BAKUGOU KATSUKI STOOD IN THE SHADOWS OF THE CORRIDOR, arms crossed and back pressed against the wall, his expression set in a familiar scowl.
He hadn't planned on sticking around to eavesdrop on anyone's sob story, but when Todoroki Shoto's voice had drifted through the air, something about it made him pause.
It wasn't just the mention of Endeavor that grabbed his attention, but the tone—the raw edge to Shoto's usually composed demeanor.
Bakugou's gaze narrowed, his irritation bubbling beneath the surface.
So this is what my competition's made of, huh? Pretty fucking tragic. He thought to himself, shaking his head slightly as he leaned closer to the wall, his curiosity piqued in spite of himself.
Before he could lose himself in his thoughts, a sound approached from the other end of the hall.
Yuki, of all people.
Bakugou tensed, his instinct kicking in before his brain could process it.
She spotted him almost immediately, her soft, aloof expression barely registering surprise.
Their eyes locked as she started nearing his way, and she started to speak.
"Have you seen Sho—"
Without thinking, Bakugou clamped a hand over her mouth, yanking her back into the shadows with him, away from sight.
His movements were quick, firm— but not rough.
His hand muffled her words, and she stiffened in his grip.
"Keep quiet, dumbass," he muttered, his voice barely above a growl.
He glared down at her, irritated by the sudden interruption.
