I waited for my mom after school when Ty came to me. There was some silence until he annoyingly broke it. "Are we in a fight?"
"You have to ask?" I was in a pretty bad mood so I turned the other way before I could yell at him.
"Um, yeah. There's nothing to fight about. I was mad at a guy and had an argument. Big deal. Happens to everyone." He shrugged like everything was ok.
"Next time, have an argument while I'm not around. You can be real embarrassing sometimes, you know." I lectured him while having my back facing him.
"Oh, I'm embarrassing? You're no better. Last week, you told everyone that I wear Superman underwear! And you promised not to tell anyone! I think you need a lesson on breaking promises." He scoffed and turned me around with his hands.
"Don't touch me! You're pathetic, a jerk, and careless." I tried pushing him away, but his grip was as hard as steel.
"Ha! Pathetic? You're a control freak and a wanna-be. If you want me to add more to the list, just ask." He laughed as I glared at him. I continued trying to break away from his grip, but he held on even tighter.
"You're hurting me, Ty! Let me go! Help!" I screamed for help but didn't expect anyone to come. He just held tighter and laughed.
"No one is going to help you, Aria. I guess your mom is a little late. That's alright, I'll take you home just to make sure you won't tell anyone about what just happened." He pulled me to the parking lot. To my surprise, Ty was punched in the face I couldn't see. His hand let go of my arm and I stared in shock.
The new guy, Derek, was standing right in front of me. Ty's face was red. "You shouldn't do that to the captain of the football team. I tackle people for a sport." Ty said, as he got up. He tried punching but Derek suddenly was behind him, giving a headlock.
"Now, instead of you, I will take Aria home before you hurt her again." He pushed him to the ground and kicked him on the stomach. Ty groaned and laid helplessly. Derek held out his hand and I placed my hand onto his as he led me to his Mercedes.
"You alright? Let me see your hand." he said so sweetly, I couldn't really see the guy who had just beaten up a football player. "Ooh, that's red. Good thing I got there sooner, or else he could have hurt you even more."
I was a bit scared so I blurted out, "How the hell did you get behind Ty so fast? While you were fighting, you were in front of him and the you were behind him. How?"
"Oh, I took wrestling so I'm a bit fast. Now, what's your house's address?" He started the engine as I told him the street that I lived on.

When we got to my home, I asked him to come inside and he accepted my invitation.
"Hey, Mom had to stay late for work, so I had to hitch a ... who's that?" Bella had opened the door, obviously rudely asking about Derek.
"This is Derek, a guy from school and apparently, my savior. Don't ask for details or else you'll say 'I told you so'. I don't feel like talking." I turned to Derek. "Come on in."
I led him to the living room and had us sit on the couch. "Why'd you move to the cold town of Heights?"
"My family wanted to live in a town instead of a city so we moved here." He looked around while I heard my sister pssting me. I excused myself and went to the kitchen.
"What the hell do you want? Don't you see I'm having a conversation?" I scolded her.
"Ty broke up with you, didn't he?"
"More like I broke up with him. Why do you care?" I crossed my arms and stared at her to see what she was trying to do.
"Your arm is red. He hurt you and Derek was your hero. Ha! I told you Ty wasn't the sweetheart you saw. But no, you wouldn't listen to Liz or me." She laughed.
"That's because I can take care of myself. I know I made a mistake, but I can deal with them. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to Derek." I left her and saw Derek standing.
"It's late. I don't want to disturb you so I'll go. Left my number on the coffee table. See you." He rushed out before I could say anything. I found a post-it with his number on the table saying:
It's great to meet you. Keep yourself out of danger, but it wouldn't matter because I'll always be there to save you. See you at school.
That's when I knew this guy was different. And I couldn't wait to meet him now. 😏
You guys probably hate Ty right now. Anyways, I will update tomorrow!
Au revoir! (French)
