Aria's POV
My phone buzzed after my last period. Need to see you. Come to the bar. The text was from an unknown number, so I figured it was probably Alex.
"Who was that?" Chelsea asked, looking over my shoulder.
"None of your fucking business!" I turned off my phone and stuffed it in my purse.
"Geez, I'm sorry. I haven't seen you this worried since sixth grade!" She started to study me closely. "Wait, you aren't doing anything, right?"
"What do you mean by anything?" She might have been on to me, and if she found out, she would go straight to Liz.
"You know..." she whispered. "drugs?"
I froze for a second, speechless at what she had to say. We must have stood there in silence for half a minute before I laughed my butt off. "Really?" I choked out in between laughs. "Me? Do drugs?"
Chelsea turned red as people in the hallway looked at me strangely, like they had suspected as well. "Will you shut up? Everyone is listening!"
"So?" I cleared my throat and yelled in a booming voice. "EVERYBODY GET THE HELL OUT OF THE HALLWAY!" Chelsea screamed as teenagers ran past her, pushing and shoving her along the way, and out the door from all over.
"See? Now we can talk freely!"
"Something is wrong with you. Seriously!" She said trying to fix her hair. "Now, who's your date for the dance."
"I'm not telling you until then." I said mockingly. She looked offended, but really, could you blame me? She would tell the whole school in a matter of a second. She stormed her way out the door as I took the rest of my things out of my locker.

Alex's POV
She walked in, casually asking for a drink from the bartender. and she walked up to me, saying "What do you want, dirt bag?"
Surprised, I look up with the most innocent face I could do and asked, "What's wrong, love?"
She plopped into the seat next to me and seemed to not stop talking. I could hear these complaints, "You never texted me for a whole three weeks.. where were you... what is it that you want from me?" Well that's what I expected. But instead, she just said, "I asked you what do you want, asshole?"
"I just wanted to see you. Is there a problem with that?"
"No. I just thought you wanted us to be a one-time thing." She shrugged like she didn't care.
My jaw dropped a bit, and I watched her move. There was no way she forgot about me. I mean, I gave her the time of her life, and we just kissed. Is she really over me? "What do you mean by one-time thing? We only kissed."
"Exactly. We just kissed. Nothing more. Now is this meeting over?"
Her body movement, it was different. It was like she really didn't care. That has never happened before.
"No, no, no, no. You're not going anywhere just saying what happened to us was nothing." I pulled her head to me, bringing my lips to her. At first, she didn't respond, but she finally pushed in to me. When I pulled out, she was breathless, panting too much to speak.
"Now if that was nothing, why did you kiss me back?" I smirked, as she wiped her mouth and got up to leave, but I caught her hand. "C'mon, are you too scared to hang with a guy like me?"
"What? I've dated worst guys like you. Now let go of me." That just got my mood just worse.
Growling, I pulled her to me and whispered the words, "No one is worse than me, you hear? No one."
She struggled to pull away. "If you're so bad, why should I be with you?"
"Excuse me, is everything alright?" The bartender interrupted, looking straight at Aria. But she didn't even answer. It was as if she didn't hear him.
"I have one condition: If you want to continue to see me, you have to go to a dance with me." Her words came out so quickly, but I quickly shook my head. "No way in hell."
"What? Oh, come on, it's just one dance!"
"Is that what this was all about? Threatening a breakup in order to go to a dance?" I scoffed.
"No! I really don't care about this."
"Okay, fine then. If you know what's good for you, you won't make me go to the dance."
"I'll just have to go to the dance with another guy then."
"Go for it." There was a pause after.
"Look, I need a date. All the hot guys already have dates. And I'm not going with a nerd."
"Then go single."
"None of my friends are. I don't wanna be a loner."
Are you serious? Is this what I have to do to get her to fall for me? "Ugh, just stop sounding so pathetic. I'll go."
Aria's face lit up like a candle and she had me sit down. She sexily sat on my lap and started nibbling on my neck. "I forgot to tell you one small detail."
"Mm, what's that?" I could feel her breath against my neck, cooling it every time she exhaled.
"It's a masquerade dance. Wear a tux and a mask."
Oh what the hell have I gotten myself into?!
