Chapter 6: the car accident

Jake an Emma rushed to the hospital and ran up to the desk. Jake was freaking out. "Hi mam, I'm looking for a Logan Paul? Could you tell me where he is?" The lady looked at Jake like he was crazy, "are you family?" Jake looked at her and he had that "what do you think?" Look on his face. The lady typed Logan's name into the computer and smiled, "ah here he is he's in room 213, down that hallway.
They walked into the room and saw Logan lying there. Emma looked at him and saw how miserable he looked. Jake ran up to the side of Logan's hospital bed and saw him sleeping in pain. Jake started tearing up when Emma started hugging him. Jake looked at Emma with pain behind his eyes. Jake looked at Logan again for several minutes waiting for him to wake up out of the nightmare he was living.
He kept looking at him and finally said, "Logan's my big brother, and I'd be damned if anything happened to him. He is always there for me, and why.... Why would this happen now? Logan's always carful when he's driving, ALWAYS! This couldn't have been an accident, someone must have done it because he never gets hurt!" Emma started tearing up, feeling bad, thinking of something wise to say.
"Jake, sometimes you have to look at things bigger, not always what the possibilities could be. You have to understand that this could have been an accident. Look at the good sides of this, he's not that hurt, he's not dead, and he's not in a coma. He could have been driving and didn't see the car coming. You got lucky Jake, HE got lucky. He survived, he was brave and you know that, just promise me that you'll keep an eye on him? Please?"
Jake whipped his tears from his eyes and kissed Emma and then whispered in her ear, "I will." Emma had to go home, it was getting late and she still had to stop by Logan's apartment and pick up Maverick. When she was driving in her car she started thinking about what Jake said about Logan, and like most girls, she started crying. She was more careful driving because she didn't want to have the same thing happen to her.
As she pulled up to Logan's apartment driveway she noticed something hanging over Logan's balcony, it looked like a big piece of paper. She got out of her car and headed to the room. She opened the door and saw his laptop still on. She walked over to it and saw a picture of a girl on the screen. She looked and saw he was on his Instagram and that it was a Direct Message, guessing it was one of his fans.
She looked at the messages and saw that the two of them had a short conversation about 30 minutes before Logan got hit by a car. Emma found some interesting things the girl said to Logan. He told the girl that he was going out to the Grove later that night and her reply was "look both ways when you cross the street." Emma had a bad feeling about this girl so she decided to look her up on the internet.
She searched her name Jesse Flame, and she was 30 years old. She had a police record for being a murder and illegal driving and she just got out of jail a couple days ago. The picture she sent Logan wasn't even Jesse and her Instagram name was Stacy. Emma took out her phone and took a picture of the screen. She took Maverick and his food down to her car and left. Emma drove home but Jake wasn't there.
She decided that Jake was still at the hospital with Logan. Emma tweeted out "pray for Logan guys, he got hit by a car and is in urgent care:(" she called Jake and it went to voice mail so she told the recording what she found. "Jake, I was at Logan's apartment and his laptop was still on so I decided to look at it and I found some interesting stuff, I'll send you the pictures, love you bye."
She found out that the paper hanging on his balcony was a copy of their conversation. She went on Twitter and saw a comment from that girl, it said Stacy again but she knew who it was. Jesse wrote, "oh, so sorry to hear that, must've haven't looked both ways:)" Emma was getting more freaked out as she heard a nock on the door. She slowly walked to the door and looked through the key hole.
She saw a lady standing there with a knife in the back of her pants. She picked up Macy and ran to her bedroom. She called Jake and lucky this time he picked up, "hello?" Emma was crying, "Jake, I'm scared someone's trying to break in our house and she has a knife in her back pocket, please come home I'm really scared!" Jake started getting chills down his back, "ok stay calm, hide in the bedroom, I'm coming home right now.
