FLASHBACK

During the Kurayami Suppression, 2 years ago, I was abandoned by my comrades, but it mattered little. They were burdens more than anything. I jumped up to the tree and followed the Kurayami member Bomei through the forest. Upon activating my sharingan to follow his tracks, I saw wire strings up ahead. He was leading me into a trap. I halted my advance and jumped down to the forest floor before signing the necessary handsigns for a fire style jutsu. It wasn't any fire style jutsu however, it was: "FIRE STYLE: MAJESTIC DESTROYER FLAME!"

From my mouth, I blew out an enormous and continous stream of fire that grew in size to engulf the entire forest ahead of me. It hurdled towards my enemies with excellent speed and... disappeared. The forest was burning to the ground and in the centre of my view I saw Bomei as well as the injured Kurayami and the elder one from before. However unlike the others, I knew both of their names. Shinpi and Ikimono. I clenched my fists and cried out.

"IKIMONOOOO!"

I could see the confusion on his face but that was fine. He didn't need to know why he died it just had to happen. I had to make him pay for hurting my sensei Isamu. Throwing my arms behind me, I began running towards the three with little care for my own safety. With one hand, I made a singular hand seal, before two shadow clones of myself appeared at my sides. The clones would prepare their own attacks for Bomei and the doujutsu user whilst I headed straight for the old man, Ikimono.

The eye-holes in my Anbu mask glowed bright red as I activated my three tomoe sharingan, which I used to cast a genjutsu on the baldie. Whilst the other two Kurayami were busy with my shadow clones, I pulled out a kunai in front of Ikimono and swung it down to finally strike him down. Then he ate something, and he managed to catch my arm before the blade could touch his neck. He chuckled and spoke with an old, scratchy voice: "I've consumed my special Beast's Chakra pills. Genjutsu will no longer work on me."

Furrowing my eyebrows as I pushed down on the kunai, I asked confusingly, "Beast's Chakra pills?"

"Yes. I converted some of the chakra of a chakra beast into a pill which when consumed, will give me the ability to use it. Now, even I can become stronger than you." Suddenly I felt my feet detach from the forest floor whilst Ikimono swung me by my arm and tossed me like I was weightless. The sheer power of the throw was too much for me to keep up with so my landing wasn't the most graceful of landings. I slowly stood up, determined to destroy this old man. I could now see why my sensei had been defeated. He was a cheater.

My two shadow clones had been quickly dealt with by the two other Kurayami. I knew the battle ahead would be difficult. I had been titled one of the Leaf's strongest but I wasn't sure if even I could handle three S-Rank shinobi. I remembered what Sensei Isamu had taught me about being outnumbered.

~

I planted my small feet firmly on the grass, making sure my fighting stance was correct before looking across to Jin and Kawaguchi. However my focused gaze was broken by the sound of Sensei Isamu's deep voice. "Don't think that just because you're outnumbered, you've lost."

My head turned to him. "Yeah but it's not like I'm gonna back out of a fight I chose to do.

Isamu stuttered for a moment before speaking again. "Yep. Just let me make my point okay?" I decided to shut up and let him speak. We'd probably get to fighting faster that way. "In situations like this 2v1, it's best to stay on the defence. Think and fight strategically and plan out your moves before you do them. When your enemy fails an attack, that's when you can get offensive but you should stay defensive for the majority of the fight. You don't wanna leave yourself open or you won't be able to win at all. Got it?"
