"This is the Haru District built by my great grandparents back when the First Hokage was around!" Abe Haru would brag as he led Miya and I to the 'best park in Konoha.' Obviously, the best parks were found in the Uchiha neighbourhood but I thought I'd humour the geek for a bit. I asked, "So are you part of a clan Abe?"
Abe gave me a smug grin as he placed his hands in his pockets, "Yep! Clan Haru are made up of builders from the Warring States Period, but we actually possess a kekkei genkai that I'm not allowed to share outside of battle situations!" I scoffed whilst Miya was much more curious and inquired, "What's a kekkei genkai?"
"A kekkei genkei is an inherited technique, like the Uchiha's Sharingan for example." Abe looked over to me and winked. I blinked at him for a moment, dumbfounded by his ridiculous gesture. Miya would also turn me with another question: "Do you have the Sharingan?"
I began to play with my black hair as I responded, "Well no... I don't possess any jutsu really, but I'm still gonna become a strong Anbu shinobi like my auntie!" I saw Miya's eyes light up as she raised her fists in front of herself with excitment. "My dad's an Anbu too! Maybe they know each other! Ask her! Do it! Ask about Hajime Kiyoko!"
I placed my hands on her fists and gently lowered them with an amused smile, "Heh, okay okay I'll ask her."
Miya scratched the back of her head nervously, "Sorry, I find it hard to hold in my excitment around friends."
My eyes widened as I looked at hers, seeing the honesty in them. I had friends before, but they were all fellow Uchiha so it was expected. This girl WANTED to be friends with me, a weirdo with weird hair and no talent. "Friends?-"
"HEY UCHIHA!" The voice of a girl barked out, making me flinch. I turned around to see it was the beautiful blonde girl from class and her two cronies. She stepped closer and looked at me conceitedly. "Why are you hanging out with these uggos? You should hang out with us. We're all from big clans too."
I observed the three of them, seeing a boy with spiked brown hair and another with the white all-seeing eyes of the Hyuga Clan. They had to have been the strongest of our class but they also just insulted Miya and Abe. I wasn't sure what to do. The cool kids were offering me a place with them but I was growing to like Miya and Abe. The blondie added, "Get out of our park you fatties."
I looked over to them and saw that both Miya and Abe were looking down in despair, not putting up any fight. The same park that Abe boasted about being built by his clan would be given up to these bullies without any resistance. I clenched my fists. I couldn't watch my friends get treated like dirt so I roared out, "They're not fatties, they're my friends so leave them alone!"
The blonde girl almost looked shocked at me. Her mouth gaped open yet it took a moment for her to gather the right words. "Did you just talk back to me?!" She sounded completely puzzled.
"Uhh..." I was quite confused myself. Had she really never been talked back to before?
Her expression of shock turned into an impressed smile as she crossed her arms. "I'll let it slide this time, for all of you. But you, Uchiha, you're my rival now. My name is Komatsu Senju, nice to meet you!"
I knew there was something up with that girl. Her unmatched beauty and her control around everyone around her, except me, all made sense as the name 'Senju' left her mouth. The first two hokages were both Senju. You couldn't blame anyone related them for having a big ego. I begrudgingly said, "Sure."
Miya and Abe looked at me with awe for standing up to their bullies and would thank me for it once Komatsu and her minions left to play on the other side of the large park. We would also play together and I felt like I had grown closer to them.
