Yawn.......
I opened my eyes and saw the familiar sight of my bedroom. I stretched my arms out from under the cosy blanket, feeling the cool air against my arms. I laid there for a moment, staring up at the ceiling whilst thinking. I said to myself, "I'm going to be starting Shinobi training today." I smiled proudly and climbed out of bed, fueled by determination. After getting ready for the Academy, I stepped in front of the mirror and saw a beautiful young girl with big, messy hair just the way I liked it. I placed my hands in my pocket and posed before yelling, "Aw yeah!"
I heard the calling of my mother and immediately rushed downstairs, smelling the sweetness of pancakes and syrup. I licked my lips and sat down at the dining table with my two younger sisters and mother. I looked around, seeing no sign of father before questioning mother, "Where's dad?"
"He's just in the other room, silly. He's speaking with the leader of the clan." My mother replied proudly, like my father had just achieved something great.
Sharing a similiar view, my eyes widened with excitment as I looked towards the living room's door which was slightly open. "Ooh! So cool!" I squinted my eyes as I peered through the gap in the door to get a look at our clan's leader: Ikari Uchiha. My smile faded slightly. He looked very old, tired and even upset yet he was still speaking with such dominance, "I'm entrusting you with protection over the Uchiha Clan whilst I seek out my revenge against the Kurayami. My grandson Akani is simply too young. We've located their main headquarters and we'll use the power of the mangekyo as well as Land of Rivers' support to destroy them."
Before I could extract any more information, my mother stood up, walked over to the door and closed it fully shut. I frowned up at her and she simply pat my head.
Once I had finished my breakfast, I waddled out of my family home whilst holding hands with mother and waved goodbye to my sisters. I breathed in deeply, taking in the calm, clean air of the Uchiha district before looking around as mother walked me to school. I saw the hard-work of the various business owners and builders. I appreciated those Uchiha who didn't have the potential to become shinobi like I did, perhaps even more than those who did. I liked it when people fought against the odds.
Although there was one shinobi in particular who I admired: Konya Uchiha. I saw her with her tall, feminine figure, perfectly straight long black hair and mysterious aura. She was walking down the street so I jumped, tugging on my mother's arm and waved whilst crying out, "Aunt Kon! Aunt Kon!"
Konya looked over to me, smiled softly and waved back before continuing on with her day. She didn't do much but I was satisfied with the attention she had given me. "She's so cool!"
Finally, I had arrived at the Academy. I saw a Chunin shinobi gathering up all the little people for their first day as their parents waved goodbye. I looked to my mother with pleading eyes and stated, "I can walk myself from here."
She giggled. I couldn't realise what was so funny whilst she kissed my forehead and said her goodbyes. Afterwards I skipped over to the group of children, some faces were similiar but most of them were completely alien to me. A voice called out: "Yuuri Uchiha!"
The group quieted down into murmurs as the infamous Uchiha name was spoken. I cried out, "HERE SIR!" and then he continued on with the list of names. I was surprised to see that the Senju, Hyuga and Sarutobi clans also had students in my class and was a little concerned about the competition to inevitably come between us all.Once the Chunin finished leading us to our homeroom, I looked around and realised most of the seats were taken since I had been in the back of the group. I sighed and waddled over to the closest one in between a geeky blonde boy and a boring brunette girl. I hunched over the desk and leaned against my hand as I stared blankly at the teacher who spoke, "My name is Okita Sensei and I will be your teacher up until your Graduation Exams."
A quiet timid voice emerged from my right side saying, "Hey... I'm Miya, what's your name?"
I turned my head to see it was the brunette girl and replied with a smile, "Oh hey... My name is Yuuri-"
My introduction was interrupted by Okita Sensei who yelled out, "NO CHATTING WHEN I AM SPEAKING!"
I rolled my eyes and went back to staring blankly at the lesson Okita was about to teach. After school, I would pack my things and start walking back home. My mother wanted me to be more independent, starting with walking home on my own. It was still a bright afternoon and there wasn't much rush, yet a group of three kids sprinted past me. There were two dopey looking boys I didn't get a good look at and a beautiful blonde girl who stood out and glowed like the sun above us. The way she smiled, dressed, laughed and ran all looked so cool and confident! She was almost as awesome as Konya. In comparison to these two goddesses, I felt like a bore.
I also felt a tap on my shoulder to which I turned around to see who it was. It was that brunette girl, Miya. "Oh hey."
"Hi Yuuri! Wanna hang out with me and Abe?"
I looked over Miya's shoulder and saw that geeky kid with the glasses and long blonde locks. I stared at him blankly and blinked a little, wondering what he was doing hanging out with a girl miles better looking than him before replying, "Uhm okay."That was the moment I made my first friends outside of my neighbourhood but that blonde girl was still in the back of my mind.
