Inside, the room is cold and dark. Rose looks around, confused.

She is standing in a circular room with the back a glass wall. Black chains held lanterns that glow an eerie green, and smooth, black leather couches are scattered around on the black stone floor. A burnt out fire place sits in the left wall.

And then she sees it.

Green and silver banners were strung across the ceiling, serpents in their centers. Her eyes widen. She knows where she is.

She's in the Slytherin common room. Her greatest desire is where the Slytherins relax and whisper about secrets that no one wants to know.

Why did it bring me here?! She thinks frantically. She backs up, wanting to forget about the Room of Requirement.

There must've been a malfunction, she reassures herself as she heads back to the Gryffindor common room.

That's all, just a malfunction; she makes her way up the stairs.

Because I don't need anything from Slytherins; she slips into the girls' dormitory.

The room was confused with someone else; she gets into bed.

So why am I still thinking of him? She falls into a dreamless slumber.

Rose barely eats anything at breakfast the following morning.

"Hey, Rosie, what's up?" Hugo asks, eyeing his sister suspiciously.

Rose puts on a smile. "Nothing, Hugo. Just excited for our first classes of the year!" This was partly true.

Her brother rolls his eyes. "How come you are the only Gryffindor who is excited for that?" Rose laughs.

"Because no one else knows what real fun is."

Hugo grins and continues eating his pancakes, not noticing his sister's smile falter when he looks away.

Rose is thankful for the long classes because they distract her mind from thinking of the Room of Requirement. As soon as the class ends though, her mind races with different thoughts.

What doesn't help is that every time she passes that good-for-nothing white haired Slytherin, he stares at her until she's out of sight, making her feel very awkward. She would tell him to her alone, but she refuses to speak to him. She knows her parents would disapprove of her befriending a Malfoy (her Aunt and Uncle sure were when Albus did), and she is afraid that's what will happen. He'll use his stupid smile and dumb charm and she won't be able to resist.

This is what she is thinking about at lunch, and apparently she looked too dazed for too long, because Lily, who she is sitting next to, shakes her shoulder and gives her a worried look.

"Rose, are you okay? You look a little...out of it."

Rose shakes her head. "I'm fine, just thinking."

"Well, while you're thinking, someone is staring at you." Lily groans as Rose turns around.

Sure enough, Scorpius is watching her from across the room curiously, Albus nudging him to stop. Rose replies with a glare and spins back around, continuing her lunch with an annoyed huff.

I forgot to mention, I'm taking info out of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and in there no one at Hogwarts actually likes Scorpius except for Albus. Just wanted to tell you! Thank you for reading!
