Briana's Point of View
The sound of my alarm was quite enough to make me leave the dreamland. I annoyingly turned it off and stretched a bit. After stretching, I laid on my back, closed my eyes, and prayed.
Praying has been one of my routines. Every morning before starting my day, everytime I will eat, everytime I will go far from home or away, and most especially before sleeping. Praying makes me feel better. I also pray if I am down or not better. I pray, too, if I have received something. Praying is not just when you're down or what, it's for every single moment.
After praying, I walked downstairs to make breakfast. Opening the window at the sink, the bird's chirping filled my ears. Just as how I wanted. Their chirps made my lips stretch. It was like they're singing for me.
I opened one of the cupboards and grabbed the pancake box and the syrup. Then, took the butter from my refrigerator.
After cooking and preparing my food, I sat on the chair and started eating. Afterwards, I took a quick shower and threw on a black jacket, black leggings, my pulse watch, and my nike running air winflo 10.
15 or even 20 minutes of preparing just for a 30 minute of jogging wasn’t enough for me, honestly. I came back downstairs, then took my phone and keys from the kitchen island.
Locking the door of my newly bought house, the slightly cold breeze of the morning in California embraced me. Hearing some laughter of children, the chirping of the birds, and the sound that the wind makes made my heart melt and warm. This is something I really wanted to experience since I was young. To live alone and try to survive.
It has been always one of my dreams to step on California. Though, I have prayed that somehow, I could manage to stay here for good. And here we are now, I even have my own house!
I started off my morning run, putting on my headseat. I clicked the play button. Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter starts to play as my morning run began.
The perfect view of California was enough to make my day better, even though it hasn’t started yet. I glanced at my wrist watch and read the time.
6:30AM. I said in the back of my mind.
After another an hour of running, I have decided to stop and continue again tomorrow. I glanced at my watch and read the time. Just as I look up, I saw someone who never lingered in my mind anymore.
"Sebastian?" I whispered to myself, with my voice kinda shaky. "How come? — Oh, my God. Hide!"
Sweat starts to form on my forehead, even though I have finished running, as I looked around — trying to find a place to hide. But I failed. I found none. He’s just a few meters away now. My eyes landed on the dog that he has.
They’re probably running, just like me?
I saw his eyes on me. Though, I don’t know if he knows me. Dang. I tried to cover my face using my already trembling hands as they pass by.
I have finally released the air inside of me that I hadn’t thought I have been holding back. I patted my chest before walking again. I was about to walk away and just forget it when he suddenly called me.
