Give into the night

As we kept walking, he seemed lost in thought.

His eyes were red, puffed up from the recent crying. Suddently he looks at me.

"How are you not crying?" He simply says.

It's true. I never cried once. But it wasn't that I didn't want to. It was that I didnt want to break infront of him.

"My eyes have shed enough tears, I do not wish for more." I answered as I cupped my hands in his defined jawline.

His eyes said it all. He wanted to cry. But for some reason he didn't. He only grabbed my hands with his and said,

"I'll be the shoulder you can lean on. Just cry if you need to."

I thought about it for a second. My eyes tearing up with each second passed.

No. He cannot see me in the edge of tears. I thought. I closed my eyes and by the time I opened the the tears where gone.

"Thanks Jake. It mean alot, but we cannot afford to be weak right now. Not after all that happened." I say while holding his hands tighter.

He had no idea how much I wanted to take up on that offer.

"All we can do now, is give into the night." I whisper while pulling him to a quick peck in the lips.

He froze, but before I got the chance to pull away he kissed back more passionate. His lips were soft and warm and made me not want to pull away.

Jake's P.O.V.

On the way to no where I was lost in thought.

Why hadn't she cried? I don't get it. I asked her and her only explanation was she'd already shed enough tears.

Was I not enough for her that she'd rather not cry infront of me?

"I'll be the shoulder you can lean on. Just cry if you need to." I said that just so she knows I'm here for her, the way she was there for me.

I saw her eyes tearing up. This is my chance to comfort her. But just as it came, it left.

"Thanks Jake, it means alot, but we cannot afford to be weak right now. Not after all that's happened." She said as she held my hands tigher.

"All we can do is give into the night" she whispered.

Before I could even protest she pulled me into a kiss. It was meant to be a quick peck but before she could pull away i kissed back, more passionate.

We just stared at each other's eyes. I just love those chocolate eyes.

Azure P.O.V

As we pulled away he was stareing into my eyes and i into his.

"We need to find shelter." I said still looking into his azure eyes.

"Yeah, but i doubt this forest has got one ready for us." He said while cupping his hands into my cheeks and his thumb rubbing the sides of my face.

"Yeah, then we'll have to make it ourselfs." I said.

After 30 minutes wondering careless on the forest we found a tree with the roots poking out in the perfect spot to sleep. We made the most comfortable floor, as it can get.

We layed down, my head resting on his chest, I instantly felt relaxed while listening to his heart beat.

Jake's P.O.V

She fell asleep in about 5 minutes. She must've been tired.

My arm rested on her waist pulling her closer, my head resting ontop of her head.

I smelled in her scent. She smelled like jazmins. I loved it.
Not later I fell asleep too.

Oh how I wish we could stay like this forever. Too bad shinobis aren't meant to be happy.
