The Moon and The Star

chapter 1

Katherine's POV:
"Remus we will be late if you don't hurry up!" Mum yells up the stairs. "I will get him up mum." I say skipping up the stairs. I walk into his room and see him passed out in a chair. I sigh to my self and gently shake him. Last night was a particularly nasty full moon for the both of us. He was always the one who got hit with the after effects faster than me. "Remus you need to get up. Moony can catch up on sleep once we get on the train." I murmer in his ear. He opens one bleary eye and looks at me. "Hey Kat. How long do we have till the train leaves?" "About a half hour. So get your sorry arse up and you can sleep on my lap on the train." I say stepping back as his eyes shoot open. "Shit shit shit! Why didn't you wake me sooner?" He shouts jumping up. "Well moony had a bad night last night and the after effects hit you faster than me so I packed your stuff for you and brought you a few muffins." I respond as she strips off his torn T-shirt.

"You are the best sister ever Kat! Do you know that?" I smile and nod as he has me turn so he can change pants. "Your trunk is next to mine by the door so we are all ready to leave when you finish changing and all that jazz." I say as I flop on his bed. I hear Remus sigh in relief as he finishes changing and pulls me into a tight hug. He kisses the top if my head and I help him limp down stairs. "Hey how is your wrist?" He asks me as he finishes a muffin. "Really sore but as the effects hit me on the train it will be worse. Do you want me to poke you like I do over the summer when it gets worse?" I respond stretching it out slightly. "Yeah I do. I don't like you in pain as much as you don't like me in pain." "Okay mum I got him but you might want to wrap his ankle before we leave so walking is at least a little easier." She nods and does just that then puts me in a wrist brace. "Aww mum! Do I really need this?" I complain. She simply nods and I groan.

We floo to Kings Cross and Remus and I run through the wall. He leads the way to his usual compartment and I stay close. Everyone is watching me beacuse I am a new girl and I am not exactly ugly. I have straight waist length sandy hair(red/brown/blonde), gorgeous hazle eyes, I am tall, slim, a bit more chest than I would want for my figure, and I have tan skin. I get many creepy looks from guys and some girls look jealous. I don't wear makeup usually maybe a bit of eyeliner and lip gloss but that is usually it. Remus stops and looks back at me. I nod and he walks into a compartment with three other boys. "Remus!" Two of the boys yell when he walks in. But as I walk in all talking stops. The two boys who yelled my brothers name a second ago look me over as the third is sitting in the corner eating candy. He disgusted me if I am to be honest.

Sirius's POV:
When a girl follows Remus in my breathing stops. She is absolutely georgous. She flicks a bit of hair back over her shoulder and I find for the first time ever I am staring at her face not her body. I know she has a nice body but it isn't even close to important with her. "Remus who is she? "James asks the question that was currently running through my head. "I am Katherine Lupin. Remus's sister." She says her voice soft but beautiful. Oh crap! I think to myself. She is my best mate's sister! This can't happen. Her eyes meet mine and I feel my face heating up. THIS GIRL MADE ME BLUSH! ME! SIRIUS ORION BLACK!

She chances a small smile at me and I smile back. "Well are you two just going to stare at me or are you going to tell me your names?" She asks smirking slightly. Remus chuckles as he puts his stuff up on the rack. She follows his lead and grabs a small black backpack out of her trunk. "James Potter my lady." He says bowing to her. She giggles quietly and looks at me. "S-sirus Black." I stutter. She smiles again but I look down ignoring her gaze. I feel James and Remus burning holes in either side of my head with their eyes. The boy they know never stutters with a girl in the room. She walks past me ignoring my rudeness and sits by the window pulling out an iPod and headphones. She then proceeds to ignore us as her brother sits next to her. "Remus how was Moony last night? "James asks concerned for our friend. "It was pretty bad but Luna was there so she takes you guys places during the summer and holidays when I go home." He responds laying his head in his sister's lap.

"Who is Luna?" I ask glancing up finnaly. "She should tell you herself. She goes to Hogwarts." He explains as he nudges his sister's leg. She glances down at him and pulls out one ear bud. She raises an eyebrow and leans down so she can hear what he wants to whisper. Her hair falls over her shoulder blocking her face from view so we can't see her reaction. We see her nod then she sits up again. "I hear you three know my brothers secret. So I am positive that you can know mine. I am Luna but only on full moons. I am a werewolf." She says looking each of us in the eye. James and I stare at her. She huffs and glares at us before putting the ear bud back in and turning up the song. Remus pokes her leg again and she growls at him till looking back down. 'Sing.' he mouths to her. She hands him her iPod and he flips through it till he reaches a song and smirks evilly. She glances at the title and shakes her head. She then sings a song that I don't know the title of till the chorus.

Remus's POV:
I chose the song Womanizer and Sirius looks pissed when she sings the chorus. James busts a gut laughing and ends up rolling in the floor. Kat looks lost till I point out their reactions. She smirks at Sirius and winks at him. He growls at me but seems unable to glare at Kat. When she finishes the song I flip through her playlist again and she sings Mad World. She then knees me lightly in the back of the head and her eyes reflect her new pain from the after effects. I sit up and hold out my hand for her wrist in the brace. I look at her for confirmation before removing it and she nods biting her lip to keep from crying out. "Remus is she alright?" Sirius and James ask in unison watching her face. I shake my head and slowly pull off the brace. Her wrist is swollen and black, blue, and purple.

Sirius gasps and James winces. Peter laughs evilly and we send him out telling him not to come back. I lightly touch her wrist and she wimpers in pain as a few tears cascade down her cheeks. I apologize quickly and Sirius goes to get ice and chocolate. She puts the ice on her wrist and laughs when he hands her the chocolate. She then pulls an ear bud out again. "How did you know chocolate was my favorite?" She asks smiling through the pain. "I just guessed. I know Remus pretty well and you look like you are in a lot of pain. I don't know any healing spells so I thought I would buy you some candy." Sirius explains blushing slightly. She laughs again but it quickly turns into a wince. "Shit!" She yells through her teeth. We all stare at her funny. I have never seen her react like that and I am completely lost. She just shakes her head and sighs letting the ice melt slowly.
