The Moon and The Star

chapter 5

Becca's POV:
As we round the corner walking away from the Marauders we start giggling since there are twelve of us doing exactly the same thing at once. We then split up because the four leaders are really the Maraudettes. The four of us then look at each other and start to run. We know the Marauders are following us and we also know we are all faster. As we race onto the grounds we see no people so with a glance at each other and a glance behind us at the Marauders we all shift into our animagus forms. Lilly gets smaller and smaller until she is a bright red fox. Cassy drops on all fours and shifts into a brilliant bangal tiger. I hold my arms out like wings and flash into a phoenix. Lastly we all wait for Kat. She quickly glances back at her brother before shifting. Her body turns gray and fur sprouts. She gets bigger until she is about eight feet tall. She then drops to all fours and becomes a giant wolf. She is taller than all of us combined.

She pulls back her lips and dangles her tounge out of the side of her mouth in a wolfy grin. We hear the Marauders whispering to each other and staring at their respective sister. They then slowly walk forward very warry of Kat. I fly up and perch on James's shoulder. Lilly runs around her brother's legs. Cassy sits calmly by her brother who is petting her head softly. Remus on the other hand slowly walks toward Kat who is sitting completely still. Remus then stops and pulls his hand back. Kat's eyes betray her heart breaking at her twin brother's refusal to go near her. She turns and runs away into the forbidden forest. "Remus why did you do that?" Sirius asks watching the place Kat dissapeared. Remus looks down and says nothing. We then hear a howl of pain. We don't even hessitate to all run or in my case fly into the forest to find Kat.

We then hear her snarling and a human it sounds like laughing. The boys all shift besides Remus who doesn't know he can. We all come out from around a tree and see two men standing in the middle of a clearing watching an animal struggling to get out from some ropes. The animal is Kat. Cassy pounces on one man breaking his wand in the process. The second man jumps out of the way and grabs Kat the wolf. "One move and the wolf dies." He growls holding a knife in his hand and a wand sticking out of his pocket. Remus growls, a feral sound rumbling from his chest, and he manages to shift. He looks exactly like Kat. The man drops the kids in surprise and Kat gets out of his hold and tackles him. Remus walks up beside her and they stand shoulder to shoulder. The second man has his wand broken by Chrissy as well. Kat then let's him up and the men run off as we notice it is getting dark. Only problem is none of us know how we came in to save Kat.

Kat barks and we all look at her. She starts running in one direction and we all follow her. About 5 minutes latter we are in the out skirts of the forest and we all stop to change back. Remus is having a lot of trouble so Kat kneals down and pets his head unafraid of him attacking her. "Hey. Hey. Hey. It is alright. Just calm down. You will shift back as you calm down. As you get the hang of it it will be easier. Okay?" She murmers to Remus. He nods and closes his eyes relaxing. He then turns back into a human and hugs Kat tightly.

Remus's POV:
"I am so sorry for not trusting you." I murmer in her ear as I hug her tightly. She nods and I kiss her forehead. "I can't loose you just when I got you back." Becca walks over after I release Kat and gives me a half hug. We then start to walk back up to the school. We walk in one staggered line. So I am slightly behind Kat but also to her left. The other girls in her group appear behind us and we all walk in together. We decide to go straight to dinner but the girls stop us just before we walk in the doors. Kat turns to me and fixes my hair as Becca does the same to James.

We then walk in and everyone goes silent and watches us. I can feel my face beat up and I glance at the other guys and they all look uncomfortable. The girls don't even look fazed! "Don't you people have lives?" Cassie asks impatiently. Immediately everyone turns back around and talking starts again. Kat and the other three Maraudettes pull out iPhones and headphones. They then turn to us and give us each one. "It is a means of communication and since apparently you four boys sing we will let you listen to new song possibilities." Cassie explains as we sit down. The boys and I nod and Kat motioned to us to put in out head phones. She then shares her playlist between all of us even the other 8 girls. We listen to Amy Lee first and the girls by impulse keep beat and lip sync their parts.

"Will the Bella's please come up to the stage." Dumbledor suddenly announces. The girl stand up quietly and walk to the stage. When they are all on stage dumbledor announces that they will be singing something. The girls all look at Kat and she sighs before nodding. She then gathers the girls in a circle and the all talks places. Then they sing a song called circus. Kat is with Becca on backup and dancing as Cassie and Lilly are singing. When they finish they bow and walk back to their seats. Then dumbledor decides that we have to sing too. "Now will the Marauders come up to the stage with one girl to sing." James and Liam both point at Kat and Sirius looks at Kat. She nods and walks back up with us. We decide to sing we are young but have Kat go up an active to create a distinction from us. We finish and go back and sit down. But that is when dumbles decides to make Kat really uncomfortable. "Miss. Kat Lupin will be singing a solo."

Kat walks up to the front again and starts to sing hallelujah. When she finishes she simply walks out of the hall. James and Liam grab some food for all of us and we all go and look for her. We finally find her at the top if the astronomy tower sitting in a window looking not over the moon lit grounds. "Kat are you alright?" Sirius asks. She turns and looks at him. We see tear tracks running down her face and more in her eyes unshed. Sirius walks over and hugs her gently. She hugs him and everyone else walks back to the common room. Sirius stays to talk to Kat and hopefully make her feel better.
