The Moon and The Star

chapter 2

James's POV:
I watch the situation unfold before me and think about Peter. I can't believe he could laugh at a time like this. He has done some really cruel if not dangerous things in the past and we turned a blind eye. "We know James." Remus says sighing and looking at me. "Was I thinking out loud?" I ask blushing. Katherine nods and laughs at me. "Katherine can I call you Kat?" I ask looking at her. "I hate being called Katherine so please do. Hell you could call me Luna for all I care." She says looking back out the window. "Is she always like this?" Sirius asks Remus. "No but it is the day after a full moon and she doesn't get or look sick she gets pissed. It is like a girl PMSing but four billion times worse." He explains. Sirius and I shiver in terror at the thought.

"She can still hear you." Kat reminds us turning back around. "And I am not just going on about full moon. Let's just say that last night was the worst night possible for a full moon." She explains giving a very sarcastic smile before turning back around. Remus rubs her shoulder and she visably relaxes. "That sucks." I mumble to Sirius. "I know. And boys be very careful on what you say around me the day before, of, or after full moon. I am very touchy and will have sometimes violent mood swings. I naturally have crazy emotions even for a teenage girl so just be careful." She warns us still watching out the window. "Thanks for the warning." Sirius says as I cower back slightly. "Music is what calms her down so on those days or if she is just having a bad day she is allowed to one bud it during classes. Dumbledor's orders." Remus tells us as he puts his head back in her lap.

She puts the ear bud over her shoulder and rests her arm on her brothers chest. She then leans her head against the window and closes her eyes. Almost immediately her breathing slows and she is asleep. Remus falls asleep not long after and Sirius and I quietly plan our next prank knowing how bad it would be for us to wake them up. And since there are now two and the girl has crazy mood swings we let them sleep. They both wake up a few hours latter and we start talking again. By the time we reach Hogwarts we have added her into the Marauders and she becomes our most valuable asset since she can prank and not get in any trouble.

Kat's POV:
The boys and I walk to the carages and right as we all sit down they start to move. I am sitting in between Remus and Sirius and I lean on Sirius's shoulder as we ride up to the castle. Even though it is dark I can tell he is blushing. He then slowly puts am arm around my waist and holds me closer. I lean into his chest and listen to his heart beat eraticly. Once the carage stops I stand up and climb out. A lady in dark green robes meet as me in front of the doors. "Ah you must be Miss. Lupin. You will be sorted first and then join your new house before the first years." She explains to me. I look back at the guys and nod following her. Remus gives me a thumbs up and James smiles. Sirius catches my eyes and mouths good luck to me. I thank them and walk into the hall behind the witch I learned was named professor McGonagall.

She has me sit on a stool after calling my name and places an old hat on my head. 'Interesting! Sly, cunning, smart, brave, bold, courageous, loyal, and not to mention beautiful. You want to be with your brother and new friends and I agree.' "GRIFFENDOR!" The hat says first in my head then out loud. I smile and stand up looking for Remus and the other two. Once I find them I walk over to them and sit next to Sirius and across from Remus and James. "Congrats Kat!" Remus says as I sit down. I smile and glance around the hall. "Hey is there a quidditch team here?" I ask looking back to the boys. "Yeah there is. One for each house and guess which house is the best?" James says. "Umm I will say griffendor since I don't know the names if the other houses." "That is actually right." "Are there any girls on any of the teams?" "Pfft no. Besides they would all complain about breaking a nail and stupid shit like that." Sirius says laughing. "When are tryouts?" "Next week why?" "I am going to tryout and prove you two wrong about girls." The boys start to laugh at my statement. "Well tomorrow is a Saturday so prove us wrong tomorrow." Remus says winking at me without the other two seeing. I smirk and nod as the food appears on the table.

They guys and I go silent as we start to eat the amazing food. When we finish we head up to the tower. I go upstairs first and look for a room with my name on it. I don't find one so I walk back downstairs and see that the guys are gone. I sit down on a couch and stare into the fire until I feel two people sit on either side of me. I look up and see Remus and James. "Hey are you having trouble finding your room?" James asks. I nod and Remus replies. "Well you are sleeping with us your name replaced Peter's on the door." I stand up and follow them into their really big room. Sirius has his shirt off when I walk in and I groan and roll my eyes. I then walk over to my bed which is right under a window at the far end of the room.

"Why are you in here?" Sirius asks as he pulls on a tank top to sleep in. "I live in here." I respond shortly. "But you arent a boy!" Sirius persists. "No shit sherlock! I am fine with seeing guys in their underwere because I have a brother. But I am not walking around here in mine so I call dibs on changing in the bathroom." I say simply as I sit on my bed. Remus laughs and James nods. I then grab my pajamas and shower bag and head to the bathroom. Once I lock the door I strip and ignore the mirror as I start the shower. I shower quickly and dry my body before putting on my pajamas. They consist of black booty shorts, a gray tank top, and a button down black shirt. It is too big for me so it hangs last my waist. I then brush out my hair and brush my teeth. When I walk out I ignore the boys who are watching me.

I sit on my bed and pull out a book as I throw my clothes in the hamper. "Nice aim." James compliments me. I smirk and open my book on my knees and put in head phones.
