The weight of recent events lingered over the D'Angelo estate, each member of the family feeling the tension that crackled in the air. Rumors of other mafia families encroaching on their business had reached Lorenzo, each whisper suggesting that old alliances were shifting. The Russians had been a brazen threat, but Lorenzo had begun to realize they were not acting alone. Other powerful families seemed to be rallying, making moves in the shadows, testing the strength of the D'Angelo empire.

As Lorenzo sat in his study, Alessia entered quietly, Luciana sleeping peacefully in her arms. She placed their daughter in the crib nestled against the wall before turning to Lorenzo, her expression tense.

"I know you're worried," Alessia said softly, joining him by the window. "We all are. But whatever you're planning... be careful."

Lorenzo took her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "I always am. But if these families want a war, they'll get one. They've come too close, Alessia. Luciana, you, and the boys—you're my world. I won't let anyone jeopardize that."

Before Alessia could respond, Nico entered the room, his face a mix of worry and frustration. "Dad, we just got word that the Ravello family has been spotted near our northern warehouse. They've been talking to our contacts, digging for information."

"The Ravellos..." Lorenzo's voice hardened. They had been allies once, but he knew their loyalty was only as strong as the opportunities around them. "Are they sending a message?"

"It looks that way," Nico replied, crossing his arms. "They've also reached out to some of our allies, questioning our recent moves. If we don't act fast, they could start pulling support from under us."

Lorenzo's eyes narrowed. "Then we need to remind them where their loyalty lies. I'll arrange a meeting with Dominic Ravello personally. If they're scheming, I want to confront him face to face."

Xander, who had been listening from the doorway, stepped into the room. "You really think Dominic will come clean if he's involved?"

"He will, or he'll regret it," Lorenzo replied firmly. "They know better than to push us this far."

Later that evening, Lorenzo gathered his sons in the estate's meeting room. His plan was clear: they would take control of the situation by confronting Dominic and any other families who dared undermine the D'Angelos.

Nico spoke first. "We need eyes on all our businesses, and every connection traced. If the Ravellos are stirring things up, there could be others planning moves too."

"Agreed," Leo added. "We can't let them think we're vulnerable. We need to send a clear message."

"Let's start by tightening security and ensuring our allies stay in line," Lorenzo instructed, his voice cold and commanding. "If the Ravellos want a test of power, we'll show them they're outmatched."

A few nights later, Lorenzo and Nico arrived at a secluded restaurant on the outskirts of the city where Dominic Ravello had agreed to meet. The place was quiet, the atmosphere thick with tension as the two men sat across from one another.

"You wanted to talk, Lorenzo," Dominic began, a smug look in his eyes. "Is there something on your mind?"

"Only the sudden interest your family seems to have in my business," Lorenzo replied, his voice steady. "Care to explain why you've been encroaching on our territory?"

Dominic chuckled lightly, feigning innocence. "It's a competitive world, Lorenzo. Perhaps we're simply looking to expand."

"Expand? Or push boundaries?" Lorenzo shot back, his eyes narrowing. "If you want to make enemies, Dominic, you're choosing the wrong family."
