(Asmodeus pov)
Her skin was soft, and she smelled like champagne fresh out of the bottle. Demons were dead pale living creatures. Sort of like vampires in a way. Why do we mark our partners? Dominance and territory. Even if it seemed toxic, greed took over most of our souls if we had one in the first place. She was different. Ears weren’t as dull and instead pointed up to the sky. Eyelashes curled and long with skin a gold caramel mixture.
Her wings weren’t as short as mine; they were long and full of feathers, but it seemed like they had a color before red. Was she a half demon? Is that why her scent was so intoxicating? Why was she so beautiful? I smiled down at her curious form, noticing that her eyes didn’t glow any color but gold. Compassion and royalty as I would describe it. She wasn’t cursed with sins like me nor anybody else, and her skin burned when I touched her.
That didn’t happen with the other demons that came my way. Her skin had to have some sort of purity in the soft strands of her genes. Why was I observing too much? Why was I treating her differently? I paused at the door that led to my lounge area, looking down at her small form. If she had a sun and moon tattoo, then I would have an answer.
Marking her wasn’t going to be hard. Digging my teeth into her neck diffusion venom into her body, causing my scent to give off an aroma. I didn’t feel envious towards her. It was more of a fixation on her appearance. I looked at the door knob that glowed the same gold color her eyes shined and placed my hand on it, turning it to enter the room. I placed her down, watching her knees buckle and tremble from the after effects of the bintel drug that makes you sleep instantly. She fell back, gasping and falling into my arms as I caught her like it was reflex.
I wouldn’t have done that for anybody else, but why her? I have never grown a liking to my “Pets”, so should I really call it a liking? She looked up, and light coral red tinted her beautiful face. It made me blush as well, until the moment was over when she winced. Moving my hands off her as red painted her skin. I leaned her on me, moving my hands up and away from her.
“I apologize” I panicked, watching her lips form a smile.
“No need to apologize. I should be thanking you for catching me” I was at a loss for words. My lips remained separated, getting ready to say words that didn’t come to my mind. I cleared my throat, closing the door and looking at her.
“Shall we go to the couch?” I asked, watching her glance over at my arrangement of the space in my place.
“You’re in charge, remember?” She said, clinging to my shirt and waiting for me to move. I gulped, trying to get rid of the butterfly that clogged my throat and took one step at a time. Slowly, I made sure she was okay with every step. I slowly let her sit on the couch, itching her neck and stretching out her legs.
“Anahera? Was it” She nodded, giving her full attention to me.
“M-my servants will um…get you new clothes if that's what you would like." She slowly nodded, smiling at the way I talked. I was nervous all my focus on her eyes the way she gave me all her attention.
I turned slowly, glancing one more time at her before calling my servant over. I looked at my maid Euryale standing at the door. She was supposed to be holding a duster in her hands, waiting for me to instruct her.
“Euryale”
“Yes master?”
“Warm up the room and bring her more clothes”
“Please,” Anahera added with a smile on her face. I glanced at her then back at my servant, who had a smile on her face when looking at her.
“Please” I said, watching her eyes widen in shock. She nodded rapidly before turning around to the thermostat and walking towards the quest closet. I glanced at her and the attire I bet Diabolos put her in. I could smell him on her, and his oder lingered on her flesh.
“How was the ride?” I asked mainly to get rid of the tension. She sat properly with legs crossed over on another and arms folded on her knee. She hesitated on answering but then said what came to her mind.
“Uncomfortable” I nodded, wanting more information.
“What made it uncomfortable?”
“The way we travel…and that one lust demon in the passenger seat” I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose.
“Diabolos”She nodded, running a hand on her neck.
She looked scared like she was waiting for me to lash out, I didn’t want to make her uncomfortable…well more uncomfortable than she was. I watched her lean back and hold her breath, narrowing her eyes. I had to calm myself…think about something else.
“ Asmodeus “ I heard from a room, making me turn my attention to the voice.
“I have the clothes ready for her '' My servant smiled, looking over at the divine sitting on my couch. I nodded, looking at her only for her to already be glancing at me. I licked my lips with my snake-like tongue slowly getting ready to help her. I looked on the coffee table and saw white cleaning gloves. I hesitated on grabbing them but did anyway and slipped them on my long fingers. I grabbed her arm, waiting to see if she would wince.
“Does it burn?”She shook her head slowly, relaxing into my touch. She felt warm and somewhat comforting. I squeezed her flesh, helping her stand on her feet that sunk into the fabric my floor was lined with. She wobbled, losing balance only for me to grab ahold of her before she could fall. Her small hands gripped onto my shirt for balance, slowly taking one step at a time and focusing on making it to the room.
Step after step, she walked like a newborn baby to the dressing room that had her new attire. I helped her sit down on a chair in the room, slowly letting her go.
“Do you need someone to help you?”
“No thank you” She said with the softest smile planted on her face. It made me jolted with a feeling I've never felt before, and before I could figure it out, I nodded and walked out of the room, not wanting to find out.
