Tracy

I woke up to the smell of Bacon and eggs and my stomach rumbled. Alec was not in bed and I felt a little bit disappointed but I got dressed, brushed my hair and teeth, then I followed that delicious smell to the kitchen. Upon entering the kitchen I saw Alec and Quinn sitting at the table, discussing something, Emily was behind the stove.

"Morning" I said. Alec stood up and gave me a kiss. Emily gave me a plate with bacon and eggs and I gave her a thankful smile.

"So Trace, Alec says you are ready for the mating trial " Quinn broke the silence.

"Yeah, now I just need to figure out where to start with all the planning" I said, taking a bite of bacon.

"No need to stress about it, dear. You can go dress shopping with your mother and leave the rest to me." Emily said with a big smile.

"I can't leave you with everything Em, we can do the planning and preparations and I will go shop for a dress tomorrow." I couldn't possibly leave all the work to Emily.

"Nonsense, I have nothing else to do and this will keep me busy. Besides, you can't go shopping tomorrow, the Mating ceremony will be tonight." Emily said matter of fact.

I almost choked on the piece of bacon I was about to swallow.

"What do you mean tonight?" I squealed.

Emily gave Alec a stern look and then looked at me.

"I thought Alec explained everything to you, I guess he left out a crucial part then. The planning, Mating ceremony and everything happens in one day Trace." Emily explained and smiled.

I suddenly felt overwhelmed, I just made the decision last night. I know I wanted this and I wasn't second guessing anything, I just didn't know everything will be happening so fast.

"Tracey! " I heard Alec's voice. He was standing beside me, I didn't even notice that he moved. When I locked eyes with him he was staring at me really concerned .

"We don't need to do this, it's OK. We can wait" Alex said and I could hear the sadness in his voice. He was probably thinking that I changed my mind.

"No Alec, I was just overwhelmed for a while but we are doing this, I haven't changed my mind." Relief showed on his handsome face when I said that.

Alec gave me a kiss and had a huge smile on his face.

"Thank you, love. Now you go and get Isabelle, I will call one of the Elders to officiate the ceremony and Emily will take care of the rest. Quinn, you can get the pack to help with the decorations." Alec started to give out orders.

I was on my feet and Alec gave me his credit card.

"You can get anything you need" he said but I protested since I had my own money and I can now use it since Rian was dead but Alec insisted, his eyes sparkling with excitement. 'Just let me spoil you a bit today; it's a special occasion, after all.'

With a deep breath, I accepted, feeling a mix of nerves and exhilaration. The weight of the day ahead pressed on my shoulders, but there was also a thrill at the thought of finally stepping into this new chapter of my life. on my way out I couldn't help but smile,  my heart lifting with every moment spent with family and friends. I could see the pieces of the day falling into place, and as I felt their support and love, I knew I wasn't alone in this. Embracing the whirlwind, I whispered to myself, 'Let's do this.' The future was waiting, and it was time to step boldly into it.
