Dasuki State, Nigeria

2022.

Abba looked at Nabeel for the upteenth time. His heart was aching, this was the whole reason he didn't want an open case, news channels are sharing the news even halima's picture.

He protected his wife even that time and protected the spread of rumors, he gave up his project, his evidence on Alh. Yabo just to protect her image, he swallowed all the pain just so it will be burst open in court and then people will speak rubbish about her morals. A dead woman—but the media didn't care, they are only looking for sweet gist to dine over.

"I warned you, didn't i?"

"Abba—"

"Nabeel, just let it be. We are loosing the case already, withdraw the case."

"Abba, one last chance even the judge gave it to us. We'll prove it"

"How? Didn't you see that man what's his name—Barr. Ali Yakubu he won't let us win. I don't like seeing my family name making headlines."

"Abba, trust me this one last time."

Abba sighed. "Fine then."

Nabeel drove to the office, The Man has been trying to get hold of him and this's two weeks already. He didn't have time to go meet him—the owner of thir poetry organization.

He walked to the man's office and after they exchanged pleasantries, the man handed him an envelope. He opened it right there and read it contents.

He quickly looked up to the man for more explanation.

"There has been too much scandal about you and you're ruining the name of the organization that if we recommend you for a poem our clients don't want you. I'm sorry to say we no longer need you here."

"What does my personal life has to do with my work?"

"That was what i thought at first, i didn't say anything when the scandal with Zainab the model broke out, but then a scandal with your sister or girlfriend whoever she is and now your mum is all over the news. No one wants you, why should i keep paying you when you're not bringing in money? That'll mean keeping a liability"

Nabeel laughed at his words. "You're calling me a liability?"

" You started a fight in the middle of reciting a poem at your own cousin wedding, if you can't control yourself and sabotaged your sister's event. You can do it anywhere, even at an important event that will book you—No one wants to even book you by the way. "

"I was working on my own, you brought me here on your own. You asked me to come here i had clients even before joining you. Don't think you did me a favor"

"—but you got more after joining me."

"They're alot of organizations out there and just now after what you did, i realized I don't want to join any organization anymore I'm good on my own. Nice meeting you by the way."

He walked out of the office to his car, his head a jumbled mess. Was he just dismissed. Well, their loss not his.

He drove to Barr. Rushdi's firm and met him in his office. They discussed alot of the things regarding the case before he drove back home, He didn't fill in Zakir about how the previous hearing turned out he only told him it was adjourned.

He drove to Magnificente after his meeting with Barr. Rushdi.  Only to meet Asad there what the fuck? He even had the peace of mind to come here with his friends and party. Someone who's almost hitting rock bottom. Magnificente was extraordinarily full today with girls and boys that they weren't even an available seat it seemed someone was throwing a party.
