"So, you guys are together?"

"Yeah, she asked me out yesterday." I hear Kai say from the living room. "I'm so happy for you." Finneas replies. "You've liked her for so long."

"I know, she's my absolute dream girl. I love her so much."

Ugh.

Kairi just got over here and she's already talking about her girlfriend.

Stupid Naomi isn't even pretty.

Okay, of course she is, I'm just jealous.

Jealous of her looks, that is.

I'd never be jealous of their relationship. That would be so dumb.

I walk into the room with a smug smile on my face. "You sure she thinks the same about you?"

"She's literally the one who asked me out." Kairi rolls her eyes. "Maybe you pressured her." I suggest. "Can you fuck off? I'm happy and you're so jealous of it." She grumbles.

"I'd never be jealous of you." I scoff. "You're the last person I'd ever be jealous of."

"But Claudia told me th-"

"Kai, don't." Claudia shakes her head. "What did you tell her, Claudia?" I ask. "Nothing." She answers. "The fuck did you say to her?" I question. "I said nothing!" Claudia replies. "Don't worry about it."

"Well obviously I'm gonna worry. You're telling her things that I don't know." I say. "Billie, it was nothing. I was just gonna say a joke." Kairi tells me.

"Oh."

The room goes awkwardly silent till Finneas speaks up. "Hey, uh, my friend Ricky is having a party tomorrow night. Would you and Nay wanna come with us?" He asks Kairi.

"I'd love to. I'll just have to ask Naomi because she's still at the hospital with her mom." She answers. "Oh, yeah, what happened? I forgot to ask." Finneas says. "Her mom had a stroke and went into a coma." Kairi tells him. "My poor girl has been so worried. Plus, I'm hoping her mom's gonna be okay."

"Oh my god, that's horrible." Claudia gasps. "Tell her we send love." Finneas frowns. "I will." Kairi smiles.

That's so sad. I feel terrible.

But I still don't like Naomi.

"Uhm, me too." I speak up. "Huh?" Kairi asks. "Tell her I send love, too." I reply. "Oh, uh, sure." She nods a little.

Kairi goes on her phone and starts texting.
