Madeline couldn't contain her excitement. Today was the day she would finally get to hold her baby girl in her arms. It was a long wait of over two weeks for the baby to have her lungs matured. Even Ava was by her side with balloons and a wide cheerful smile. Lots of formulas and medications which costs a bunch of money all went to the baby.

The door finally opened and a nurse walked in with a new born baby. “Our baby is here girlfriend.” Ava got closer to the nurse to now take the baby in her arms. “She's so beautiful.” Madeline heard Ava whisper and she couldn't help but smile at this moment.

“Oh, looks like our girl wants her mom,” The baby moved slightly as Ava got her close to her mother. Madeline's glassy eyes stared at her creation and reached out to hold her. She was much bigger than when she was in the incubator. The baby moved again before crying softly.

“She's hungry.” The nurse smiled and Madeline only got her baby closer and the baby was quick to recognize it's mother. Madeline didn't know the joy to feel when her baby was in her arms right now. But she only knew these were the best moments. She giggled watching her little one suckling unto her for her meal. But the moment the baby opened her eyes, Madeline couldn't help but be still. She had the same flashing emerald green eyes like that of Kane's. And, she hadn't taken notice of the blonde hair peeking out of her baby's head. She was the complete female version of Kane and though it hurt to remember Kane, Madeline was glad her baby was okay.

“Miss Ava. Doctor Esperza would like a word with you.” The nurse informed Ava who quirked her brows before smiling down at Madeline who was nourishing her new born.

“Alright. Before I go,” Ava went closer to whisper to Madeline. “What should we name our little princess?”

“I want her name to begin with a M, my own initials.” Madeline cooed her baby in her arms. And, Ava got to thinking. “Hmm, how about Molly? Does the name sound nice?”

“It's perfect. And, cute too. Her name will be Molly. My little Molly.” Madeline kissed her baby.

Ava stepped out of Madeline's room and went to Esperza's office which was on the next floor. She knocked on the door leading to his office. She walked in after pushing the door to see Esperza making a call but used his finger to usher her in.

He got the call disconnected before offering a seat in front of his desk. Ava smiled and took a seat. “How's Ms Collins doing? I believe her baby girl is been given to her.”

“Yes doctor. Madeline is happy to have Molly in her hands after so long.” And, Esperza caught unto the name. “You've given her a name already? That's nice. You'll also have to do the paperwork then.”

“Of course doctor. Honestly I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for Madeline. She really had it rough when she couldn't hold her baby in these weeks. I could see it broke her.” Ava had her voice low.

“I can imagine for all mothers out there as well. Anyways I called you here to discuss about...Molly.” Esperza smiled at the end. He could easily get used to the name if he allowed the name roll off his tongue a couple of times. “Is she doing alright doctor?” Ava got a bit alert and sat up straight.

“Relax she's fine. Being in the incubator helped her a lot with her lung development but also Molly has a bit of something in her.” Esperza seemed to be looking for the right words and Ava was one who didn't like suspense, not even in movies let alone in real life. “Please be real with me doctor. Is Molly okay?”

“Like I said Molly is doing fine but I have to say this though, after her birth we discovered she has a condition called sinuses. Which means she's bound to be under the weather more often than normal.” Esperza dropped his pen which he was fiddling with on his desk.

“I don't understand doctor.” Ava said.

“What it means is, Molly can fall under the weather because of this condition and some cases it's part of the pregnancy stage when the baby's mother doesn't take proper care of her health.” And, Ava couldn't help but recall the hard life Madeline had to live to survive. It wasn't Madeline's fault if she didn't take proper care of her pregnancy at that time of her loneliness.

“...Or it can also be hereditary in most cases.” Esperza added. “I wanted to inform you about this instead of Ms Collins. Her emotional state hasn't been the best these few weeks.” And, Ava nodded. Madeline didn't need to know any of these especially now when she got to hold Molly in her arms after so long. “I'll inform Madeline when the time is right doctor. But please I beg you to run more tests on the signu...”

“Sinuses.” Esperza was quick to correct her and Ava appreciated it. “Of course. But other than that, Molly is fine. I assure you.” Esperza said and Ava sighed in relief. “Thank you so much doctor.” And, Esperza was quick to say. “Please call me Esperza. I believe we've passed the formalities at this point, don't you agree?” Ava swore she felt her cheeks turning red and quickly walked out of his office.

Molly remained in the hospital with Madeline for another week before they were been discharged. Ava was already home to make arrangements for her goddaughter's first arrival and she heard the sound of the cab while putting up the rainbow garlands. She almost tripped while rushing towards the door. “Places everyone! The new mother is on her way.” Ava told their neighbors who came over to help with the decorating.

Ava walked out of their flat to receive Madeline. Madeline was in front of the cab with Molly snuggled in her arms. “The two most beautiful females in the world have arrived.” Ava came out and shared a side hug with Madeline before looking down at Molly. “She's such an angel.”

“A sleeping angel at that. She sleeps almost the entire time.” Madeline chuckled before Ava got to the cab driver who helped her get all of Madeline's stuff and Molly's duffle bag from the car.

Madeline stepped into their neighborhood. Even though the place was in one of the dangerous alleys, the residents there were nice and kind people. She walked into their flat when the shouts of surprise made her almost stumble in shock. She had to hold her breath before smiling seeing all their neighbors sharing in her happiness. Her eyes scanned the living room which was decorated beautifully and with the colour pink taking center stage. She was surprised Molly didn't even stir after the shouts.

“Thank you all so much for coming here.” Madeline stepped into the warm atmosphere of her small little abode. It was indeed small but it was worth calling a home. Afterall a home is a place you live with your dearest ones. Ava came to stand by her side to also yell out surprise. Madeline found out their colony was hosting a small get together in the evening for Molly's arrival into their tenament. And, she couldn't wait to get her hands on a beer for the first time.

She went to their room to tug Molly on her new bed. They didn't have much to give at the moment and already saved up for a much bigger apartment. Ava already had a change of job and was now working as one of the chefs at a good and polished restaurant in Queens. Madeline used more than half of her savings to contribute into getting a more bigger apartment now that Molly has arrived. They knew just a one room flat won't work anymore with Molly's arrival.

Ava walked in next to place all of the stuffs at a corner. “I was so scared she won't make it even past the night Ava.” Madeline whispered without looking away from Molly. “She was so little when she was born. And, now I can't believe she's my strong little girl.” Madeline's eyes got glassy and Ava got ahead to place a hand on Madeline's shoulder to which she received.

“Don't forget you're not alone anymore girlfriend. Your bestie is always by your side and the both of us together will raise Molly to be a pretty and well brought up girl. She'll be our little girl to protect.” Madeline was calm and only hummed with a smile. She was in for a ride in going through all the turmoils when it comes to nurturing a baby into a grown up woman and with Ava by her side, she was ready to face the challenge.
