Kane got his head off the table and had a look around. Everywhere still felt hazy and when it all cleared, he hissed and was quick to hold the side of his head. He had another look around and it took him a while to realize he dozed off by the bar counter last night. He had more drinks than he intended to and th consequences came in form of a splitting headache.

He recalled last night's events. His lips thinned and he tried to pull himself together. “I don't need you. You weren't worth it at all. Am...glad you walked out of my life.” He gritted and slurred to no one but himself. Wanting to get up from the stool and it seemed his head was going to fall off.

“Harley! Harley...damn!” He held his head with both hands and got himself off the stool. He passed a mirror and stared at himself. He was still in his business suit from last night and his tie was loosened like a slacker. He was more than this and wasn't meant to be drinking away just because Brenda decided to end things. His hair was all tousled and for a moment Kane couldn't recognize himself. He went up the stairs to his room and saw Harley rushing when he was on the stairs.

“Good morning Mr Whitemon. How can I be of your service?”

“Where were you damn it! I've been calling for you.” Kane rubbed his temples and said while moving up the stairs once again. “Get me a sharp black coffee and some painkillers for this headache... And, where's Amalie?” This time he turned to look down at the maid Harley.

“Your mother stepped out very early this morning. I believe she's returned back to her place?” Harley didn't seem sure and Kane only hoped his nuisance mother was out of his hair. He dismissed Harley before walking ahead. Entering into his room and he was forced to recall Brenda. Some of her ensembles were still locked away in his wardrobe and he wondered why she didn't take all of her things with her.

He strides towards his walk-in closet and drags out all of her things before kicking the door. He sighed before inhaling her fragrance which was still present in his room. “It would be damn easy to forget you ever existed.” He muttered before staring at the time. It was a first time he remained in his home at this hour. He wondered what the news outlets would say about the host walking out of his own anniversary party and not showing up.

He got his bathrobe on and walked to the bathroom but was quick to inform Claire - his virtual home assistant which was by his bedside to call for his assistant Noelle.

“Good morning Mr Whitemon.” Noelle spoke while Kane was taking a shower. “Schedule all of my meetings for today starting from 12pm. Let Ben send the car for me.” The line went dead and Kane walked out of his room all dressed up. With a habit of constantly checking his watch, he made his way downstairs and found Harley setting his table. “Thank you Harley.” He got to his seat and saw the other side was empty.

“Harley? You're forgetting a plate for Brenda...” He immediately paused and he recalled always calling Brenda down for breakfast. He took the painkillers before having his light breakfast. He drank his black unsweetened coffee and wasn't able to digest it all and he turned to Harley who stood at a corner to await any further instructions.

“Go to my room and clear out all of Brenda's belongings. And, if possible change the freshener in my room. I don't want to scent any strawberry smell in this house.” Harley nodded immediately before coming to clear the table once Kane got up from his seat.

“Hello heartbreaker,” Kane looked up to spot Mariana making her entry and making sure her heels were clicking against his creamy tiled floor. “Where were you? I've been trying to reach you since last night. You simply vanished after the meeting.” Kane asked while getting his cufflinks on his suit.

“Let me help you with that...” Mariana walked ahead to help him wear his cufflinks. Her eyes flashed at Kane's stoic and mean look. “You don't have to be all thick skinned about it Kane. I know Brenda leaving hurt you a great deal.” Kane didn't respond and hoped it told Mariana how he wasn't interested in the topic regarding Brenda.
