The little red fox cub glanced at the sky outside, every time it rumbled she moved her head and bounced a little. An hour has already passed and the storm was still going on.
"When will the storm end?" Asked Iris, the red fox cub. She slowly walked towards her parents and took her eyes off of the sky when she was halfway through.
"Soon little one, soon..." Her mom answered, her mother had a cold. Her mom coughed, and coughed. Her mother's eyes were happy and joyful, her eyes were also orange, her fur was dark orange.
"Are you okay, sweetheart?" Iris's father asked, his tone was calming, he was trying to calm Iris down and not scare her. His fur color was cherry red, he nuzzled his neck on Iris's mother's fur.
"Mother? What's wrong, whatever it is... I don't like it..." Iris said, her voice was sad and quiet. Her fur color was bright orange, since she was still a young fox.1 Year Later
It was wet and damp outside once the rain has stopped, as Iris stepped outside of her den her paws were already soaked with water. But the fresh watery air smelled good and the grass in between her paws made her feel relaxed. She closed her eyes as she sniffed the air, the sniff was long. She exhaled and opened her eyes, she looked around the wet and damp forest. The birds were chirping and singing their songs all around her, the sounds of lizards, frogs, roads and rabbits rustling around in the bushes can be heard too. Then Iris heard a louder rustle in the bushes, the sound made trees sway and made the flowers dance, she then saw a dash of some orange looking color, maybe it was another red fox? Iris tried to sprint towards the mysterious dash of color.
"HEY, WAIT!" "I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!"
Iris tried to sprint as fast as she can, trying to catch up with the surprisingly really fast dash of color, or a random animal. The wind blew in her face, she heard the winds screams and hollers as it blew in her face, she tried to yell again to catch the animals attention.
"STOP, I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!"
Finally, the animal stopped. It cantered, trotted and then finally walked and then stood in front of Iris. The animal lifted it's head up and looked at Iris's face. It turns out the animal was actually another red fox, the red fox had normal orange fur and beautiful blue eyes, unlike Iris who had regular yellow eyes. She thought that the fox she had just met was the most beautiful fox she had ever seen before in her whole life. Finally, after a few seconds of silence, the mysterious red fox told Iris his name.
"My name is Eclipse, what's your name...?"
Eclipse sounded like the most beautiful red fox she had ever heard, his voice was majestic and he was super handsome. Even other animals in the forest that had seen him before had crushes on him. He had that dreamy personality that everyone wanted with their partners and mates. It seemed like he always knew the right words to say to comfort you whenever you needed it. He also will try his best to know anything he could about you and never spills or tells anyone any secrets you tell him. He was also about the same age as Iris, who is 2 and is a teen, Eclipse is just a little bit older than Iris by a year.
"M-my name? You... You want to know my name?"
Iris seemed super flabbergasted that such a handsome fox asked for her name, but also because no one had ever wanted to be her friend, other than Calypso, who is her timber wolf friend. She went to Snowy Falls with her one time for a vacation but that's another story.
"Oh, uhm, my name... Right... My name is Iris."
"That's a beautiful name." Eclipse answered quickly. He sounded a bit calm for an animal that was running away really fast just a few minutes ago. Iris soon realized this and decided to question it.
"Wait a minute..." "If you were just running away from me, why are you so calm?"
Eclipse paused for a moment and then decided to answer her question.
"I'm actually on a mission to.. Uhm... Kill you," "but I will get in trouble if I don't."
Iris was tottaly flabbergasted, again. She opened her mouth in shock but then closed it and then opened it again to speak. Her words coming out in a frantic shout.
"WHAT!?" "TO KILL ME! I WON'T ALLOW IT AND JUST WHEN I THOUGHT YOU WERE NICE!" Iris started to turn around and trot back to her den.
"Wait!! I don't have to kill you, if you just let me cut you a bit so that I can show my leader your blood you can live!" Eclispe said. He sounded very desperate, like he didn't want to kill Iris but he had to because he would get in trouble if he doesn't.
"WHY WOULD I LET YOU CUT ME? What if you kill me while cutting me? Oh, and if I do agree please make it a small cut." Iris seemed like she was uninterested, she didn't want to be near an assassin or a killer, she just wanted to be safe, especially in her own home.
Eclipse gave her a why would I kill you look, he seemed very concerned about Iris's thoughts and what she said he would do to her. Why would he kill he anyway? Or did he lie and he actually stabs her, who knows?
"Okay, okay. I'll let you cut me, just make it small and quick... Please." Iris answers. She was a little hesitant though, she was scared to get hurt. She has been hurt many times before but getting her skin sliced was different and new to her.
Eclipse takes his knife out of the pouch he was wearing around his back and walks towards Iris, holding the knife in his mouth tightly so that he doesn't drop it on accident. Iris clenched her teeth together and closed her eyes shut tightly, her heart racing with each step Eclipse took towards her. Eclipse slowly walked towards her, finally he stopped walking and held the knife to tie side of Iris's body. He then took a deep breath in and backed up and aggressively stabbed Iris in the side deeply. Iris opened her eyes wide open and turned her head around swiftly to look at Eclipse, who had regret in his eyes. It looked almost as if he didn't want to stab her, but Iris felt betrayed instead. She felt hatred towards Eclipse, she wanted to just snatch that knife from his mouth and stab him a million times. She just wanted to kill him no matter what! Iris fell to the ground on her right side, she tried to say something to Eclipse but she couldn't even utter a word out. Eclipse then took the knife out of Iris's side and tried to shake the blood off so that it doesn't drip in the pouch wrapped around his neck. Iris opened her mouth and spoke very faintly.
"I... I trusted you..." Iris then closed her eyes, she was still breathing though. Blood was dripping out of her left side.
"I'm sorry, Iris... I just couldn't bear the thoughts of what my leader would do to me if she ever figures out I didn't kill you..." Eclipse spoke softly to Iris, like he was sorry to kill her. Eclipse trotted somewhere and grabbed a cobweb, he then tried to wrap it around her bleeding left side of her body. That didn't help with the bleeding at all though. Then Eclipse caught a few rabbits and dropped them near Iris for her to eat.
"Here, it's for you to eat when you get hungry." Eclispe said. He gently pushed the rabbits closer to Iris with his paw.
Iris didn't say anything, all she did was slant her eyes at him and snarled at him. She didn't care about his leader or want they would do to Eclipse, she just wanted him dead for what he did to her.
As soon as I can hunt and walk again I will track him down and kill him! I don't care if my mother says that he didn't mean to, he told me he would just just barely cut me not stab me!
Iris thought. She wanted to kill him right now for lying to her. She couldn't though because she was wounded very badly at the moment. She wanted her parents who used to heal different kinds of animals in the forest to heal her but they were far away. She then decided to at least try to stand up and walk. She started with her front legs and then her hind legs, she was slow and limped. She then stumbled down after a few seconds of trying to walk. She fell down on her wounded side, she screamed in pain as she fell and the pain got worse. She tried to get up again, which she was able to do, she tried to to walk faster than before but was still limping. She almost fell over again but then took a break to regain her balance. Luckily, her parents den was right in front of her! She tried to canter over to her den but then she fell and rolled down the hill beside her. She was in a lot of pain after the fall, she couldn't even see or hear properly after she fell and her whole body was aching with intense pain. Her parents heard her and quickly walked outside of the den.
"Iris! Was that you?" Her mom yelled out. Iris heard her voice and tried to get up but failed. She tried to yell back, using of the her remaining emergy.
"I'm here mother!" Iris yelled. Her mother quickly turned around and looked down the hill Iris rolled down and looked at her in shock.
"Iris! You're bleeding!' Her mother yelled out in a panic. She carefully trotted down the hill and put Iris on her back, making sure not to hurt her.
" Mother... I.... I almost got killed... Everything hurts..." Iris said, her voice was soft and you could hear the pain in it too.
"Don't worry, we can heal you." Her father said. He was getting all of the herbs needed ready and put them on the table, he also put some mint on the table for for her to eat to help soothe the pain.
"Please do." Iris was desperate to get healed, she was in so much intense pain she just wanted it all to be over. She was only 1 years old, which in fox years is pretty much a teen. Her pulse was faint but you could still hear it. Her parents guaranteed her that she would he normal again tomorrow.
