In the heart of the city, the fountain gurgled softly, its water dancing in the fading light. Genesis sat on the edge, her arms wrapped around her knees, staring at the rippling surface. Love felt like a distant fairy tale to her—something she no longer believed in.

Across the fountain,Scarlett, approached. She had always been a dreamer, someone who saw love everywhere, even amid her family's fractures. Her eyes sparkled with hope as she noticed Genesis.
"GAL?!" Scarlett called, a bright smile breaking the quiet. "Sabi ko na nga ba nandito ka, pumunta me here kasi hindi you nagrereply sakin"
Genesis looked up, masking her surprise with a shrug. "Hey, Iska"
Umupo si Scarlett kung saan nakaupo si Genesis, "Mukhang malalim iniisip mo, Okey ka lang ba Gal?"
"Yup, what are you doing here, anong oras na ah"
"Namiss ko lang yung fountain" napatingin si Genesis kay Scarlett na may malawak na ngiti sakanyang mga labi.
"Yung fountain ba or ako?" Pabiro ni Genesis
"Pwede both?" And nagtawanan silang dalawa, hanggang sa dahan dahan muling natahimik, tanging ang mga tubig na nagtatalsikan sa fountain ang naiwang ingay.
"Ang lalim naman niyan Gal" napalingon muli si Genesis kay Scarlett na nakatingin din sakanaya.
"Ano?"
"Ang lalim ng iniisip mo kako"
"Ah, I'm just confused"
"Where? Malay mo masagot ko"
"Do you believe in love?" nagtaka bigla ang mukha ni Scarlett
Scarlett laughed lightly, but there was a hint of seriousness in her tone. "Why not? Love is messy, but it's real. Even if my family isn't perfect, I still see the good in it."
Genesis rolled her eyes, the bitterness rising in her chest. "Good? All I see is pain, disappointment and obligation. What's so great about it?"
"Bakit ba ang bitter mo?"
Scarlett moved closer, sitting beside Genesis "Love isn't just about perfection. It's about connection, even when things fall apart. It can heal, too."
Genesis scoffed, but Scarlett's earnestness struck a chord. "You really believe that?"
"BIG BIG YES" Scarlett replied, her voice unwavering. "I've seen it, even in my broken family and my lovelife is not good as well, patuloy akong maniniwala na may love, despite everything."
Genesis felt a crack in her armor. "How do you keep believing? What if it hurts too much?"
Scarlett looked at the fountain, watching the water flow. "It's scary, I won't lie. But love is also courage. It's worth it, even if it's messy."
Genesis sighed, the weight of Scarlett's words settling around her. "I wish I could feel that way."
"You can," Scarlett said softly. "It starts with believing it's possible. Just open your heart a little."
"A little?" Tumingin si Genesis kay Scarlett, at tumingin din sakanya si Scarlett "Yes A little" with a little smile that cause her to be cute in Genesis's sight.
