The Mall
Me & cher walked around looking at clothes on racks we were currently in Nordstrom.
" remind me to put the chicken my mom
Marinated in the oven when we get home"
"Yeah I'll remind you forsure when are your parents coming back "
"Not sure they went out with Jose and kitty"
"probably to the country club"
"I think so Erik's coming home from Illinois today kitty was weird this morning "
"what do you mean "
"I don't know I heard her yelling at lyle earlier and she said some really rude things "
" don't tell anyone ok" cher says looking at me
"Ok , What cher"?
"Well Ed told me she can be really wile to him sometimes"
" what do you mean"
" just like really... mean she says really mean things to him and he'll be in a Weird mood for awhile Ed can always tell when they've had a fight "
"Seriously"?
"Yeah it's always been like that , it's like kitty hates lyle I've always noticed it , lyle is Jose's favorite & Erik is kittys"
" do you think they can tell I mean do you think he knows kitty feels that way?"
"He definitely knows but Erik and lyle are really close Lyle is very over protective of Erik sometimes I feel like he's more of a father to him than Jose , Erik adores lyle so what kitty thinks doesn't even matter to lyle "
I take everything in that cher told me it's almost as if I zoned out for a second I check out & walk out of the Nordstrom .
" Dionne? Are you ok"
" I don't know "
" I'm sorry D I know it seems weird but I think that's just their family dynamic I wouldn't worry too much "
" yeah I guess your right"
" wanna get food"
" sure"
We walk past a toy store and I glance inside
I grab chers arm and sway her towards the store we walk in and I look around at the stuffed animals I see a green and blue stitched teddy bear that caught my eye I pick up the bear and go to check out .
" is that all"
"Yes do you guys wrap toys "
"yes we can do a bag with gift paper"
"Perfect" .
Later on that evening I pulled the chicken out of the oven and the sides my mom prepared our housekeeper Maria put everything together while I got ready .
I wore a green summer dress with white converse I sprayed a bit of my favorite Gucci perfume on me and headed down the stairs to see my mom , dad , kitty , Jose , lyle & Erik in the family room looking at picture albums .
"Hi mija"
"Hi papi , hi everyone good evening"
"Good evening Dionne " everyone says back to me with jolly voices and smiles I wanted to be upset about earlier but everyone seemed so happy in this moment maybe I just over reacted.
"Hi Erik "
"Dionne ! , how do you like Beverly Hills so far"
"thanks to lyle and cher it's been pretty fun how was your trip"
"It was fun I enjoyed myself but I'm happy to be back to enjoy the summer with you guys" I smile
"Me too'!
I hear my mom answer the phone, it must be Sutton they talk for while and she passes the phone to around to everyone to say hello even Erik who just came home himself he really didn't know what to say so my mom suggested maybe they write to eachother until Sutton gets home.
My parents were very over protective of us especially Sutton , me and Sutton are like night and day she's kinda shy dwhile im more outgoing , Erik reminds me of Sutton and I think my parents noticed as well my parents trust the menendez's so they are probably hoping Erik and Sutton's friendship will bring them both out of their shell .
I go up to my room to get the gift I got lyle when I saw someone in my doorway.
"Oh my god ! Lyle"?!?
"I'm so sorry Dionne I didn't mean to scare you"
"It's ok , come here" I sit on the bed and motion him to sit beside me "I got you something"
"you did? " I hand him the bag .
"I did, I don't know what made me get it I was just looking around and it made me think of you if you think It's dumb I can take it back "
he opens the gift paper to see the bear.
"I love it Dionne , Thankyou so much you don't even know how much this means to me"
before I could say your welcome he grabs me in for a hug we hugged for what felt like hours just frozen in silence , no yelling , no stress , no thoughts , just love in a hug that I think we both needed ... im really glad he liked his gift .
