"She never told me anything about a boyfriend. She even denied it to me when we talked about it yesterday. So, that's why she opened up the topic! She's in a relationship!" I mumbled as I walked down the corridor with Chase's boyfriend, Dean.
"Wait... what are you thinking?"
"What?"
"Chase and I aren't really romantically involved, just to be clear."
"Pardon me?"
"Well, we're not really in a relationship."
"Wait, what?! You said you're his boyfriend. Are you making a fool out of me?" I was irked.
"I'm not making a fool out of you, believe me!" He explained, "You see, that's what we call each other: boyfriend and girlfriend. But actually, we're best friends. I am Chase's boy best friend."
"Why didn't you say that from the very beginning? Are you nuts?" I stopped walking and faced him with brows crossed.
"Please, don't get mad." He said with a sorry face.
"Excuse me, I have class." I walked away from him. Actually, it wasn't walking. It was more of stomping. THE NERVE OF THAT GUY! How dare he make a fool out of me? Is he even Chase's friend? I mean, seriously?
I was carelessly walking when I accidentally bumped myself to a petite young lady. She had an angelic, baby-face. Her make-up made her look a little mature. Without it, I bet she'd look like a kid. Her hair had light pink highlights and was tied in a top braid ending in a cute, tiny bun.
"I'm so sorry!" I apologized.
"It's okay." She grinned. She looked like a bright person. She had this adorable, resting smiling face.
"I wasn't looking. I'm sorry."
"It's okay!" She grinned. "Sometimes, accidents do happen. By the way, I am Marie. Marie Holmes, Voice Scholar. And, you must be...."
"Isha. Isha Middleford. Piano...Scholar." I shook her hand. "I'm actually new here."
"You mean in The Academy? Or Twinbrook?"
"In The Academy. I'm not so new in Twinbrook. This is my birth town. We just moved to Bridgeport when I was 6."
"Oh! You're a city girl!" she chuckled cutely, like a cherub. "How is it to live in the city?"
"Well, I live in an apartment downtown, so I couldn't feel that homey feel. It's homier here." I replied. "Are you from here?"
"No, I'm from Riverview, but I'm not really new to Twinbrook." She answered, "I've always visited Twinbrook every summer because of this academy. My mom was once a student here. I don't want to sound so haughty, but my mom was actually the cream of the crop during her time."
"Wow!" I was amazed.
"I sure am talkative, am I not?"
"It's fine." I grinned.
"You know, being the cream of the crop in this academy is an edge if you want to enroll in Thistleton. My mom had that edge."
"Your mom was from Thistleton?" I was astonished. My eyes widened. I was so amazed whenever I heard about students from Thistleton. I always thought they were geniuses.
"Yes, she was."
"Wow!" Such word wasn't enough to express how amazed I was. "How about you, Marie?"
"What?"
"Are you studying in Thistleton?"
"No." She grinned.
"Why not?"
