As a part time worker in the armed detective agency you would think that you would get less work for a good paycheck but unfortunately that's not the case, why?
Cause now you're stuck doing Dazai and Ranpo's paperwork, you still have to go hop aroun...
They met up with the client: a petite woman with short blonde hair and dark hazel eyes
She sat perfectly straight on her seat, looking calm yet nervous at the same time. Her hands neatly on her lap as she continues to patiently watch them.
"So you want us to investigate something?" Junichiro asks "what sort of-"
"You are stunning!" Dazai cuts in holding the woman's hand, catching her by surprise. "such fleeting glory, like the petals of a water lily... and such touching sweetness!" He gushed, getting close to her personal space "how would you like to have a double suicide with me?"
Before the client could even answer Kunikida grabs Dazai by the collar and throws him across the room
"Please don't mind him" Kunikida informs "he's just another client that needs 'extra' assistance" he then proceeds to drag Dazai into another room to be scolded.
"Tea?" M/n asked, in his usual monotone, giving her a cup of earl grey tea
"-Ah thank you" she awkwardly replied taking a sip of the tea
"So how can we help?" Junichiro continued
"I'm calling upon you because behind my company's building some suspicious people are hanging around there" she informed regaining her composure
"Suspicious in what way exactly?" Junichiro asks
"I'm not sure, but they dress in rags and skulk about in the shadows, they also speak in a foreign tongue which I am unfamiliar with as well" she explained
"Smugglers I would assume?" Kunikida suggested, coming back from the room "no matter how much the military cracks down, they swarm like wharf roaches and are part of any port city"
"Indeed and if I had some evidence they are breaking the law, I could bring that to the police. That is the reason for my visit today" she responded finishing the rest of the tea
"So a stakeout and evidence run then..?" Kunikida thought about it for a few seconds before assigning the members for the job. "You can handle this right lad?"
"H-huh?! Me?!" Atsushi asks in surprise
"Smugglers may be outlaws but are harmless. Provoke them and they run like mice." M/n informs, a sadistic smirk pulling at his face. "An easy case for your first job"
"B-but"
"Just stand watch that's all we need, plus Tanizaki will be joining you" kunikida added
"I'm coming too!" Naomi exclaimed
"Go ahead" kunikida replied knowing full well that it would be useless to turn her down
M/n glance at the lady 'strange, she's surprisingly calm about having a newbie and some high schoolers do the job...'
"Are you alright with this selection Ms?" M/n asked
"Hm? Oh yes this is alright, I trust your agency" she quickly replied
'Definitely strange...'

M/n emitted a low hum through his throat as he continued to ponder about the suspicious woman. It bugged him, it really did. Her statements, her responses, it all felt off. Sure he wasn't the best at studying people and could just be overthinking it, making this whole thing pointless but then there was Dazai.
"Dazai" M/n asked turning to the bandaged man lounging on the sofa with his headphones on
"Hm?" Dazai hummed removing the headphones for a second "Yes? Is there a problem?" Dazai asked "it's rare for you to call for me"
"What did you place into the clients pocket?" M/n asked narrowing his eyes at him
Dazai's face quickly morphed into a cocky smirk as he replied to M/n "Nothing important" he vaguely replied
"..."
"..."
"Are you going to tell me what that unimportant thing is?"
"No~"
"Ok then" M/n said, he didn't bother to continue his interrogation on Dazai. Just by looking at his smirk is enough to tell him that Dazai knows what he's doing.
"Ehhh?" Dazai said "that's all?"
"..."
M/n sat back to his desk and quickly picked up the remaining files on his desk. Dazai felt confused as always to m/n's unusual and quiet behavior but nonetheless he went back to humming to his song.
"M/n" kunikida said calling for his attention
M/n glanced up from his work to find Kunikida handing him a file. "This is the case assigned to you this time"
'Of course' he let out a small sigh and nodded "got it"
Kunikida returned the nod and turned to Dazai "And Dazai, you better-huh?!"
Dazai was not there, he wasn't lounging on the couch being lazy, he wasn't there humming his annoying song, he just.... Disappeared.
"Where did that idiot go now?!" Kunikida growled.
