M/n walked down the semi busy night street, as he watched the civilians that walk past him;

Some in a rush to the nearest station, some enjoying themselves with an empty drink in hand and others dragging their zombie-like bodies back home.

'It's more busy tonight than usual' M/n internally said. He kept the file under his arm as he made his way through the crowd.

M/n reached the crime scene, the flashing lights of the police cars and ambulances illuminating the area and blinding the onlooking civilians including himself.

Not only that but the loud blaring of the sirens was painfully shredding his eardrums. It made M/n winced as he covered his ears.

The crime scene was an apartment building, a tall, five-story structure made of red and beige brick with just one entrance and exit. M/n took notice of this, making a mental note of one possible escape route for the perpetrator but also as a bad building foundation as there are no other exits for the tenants to escape during an emergency.

"Excuse me, you are not allowed to go past this area" an officer informed, blocking his way

M/n quickly shows the officer his i.d. "I'm from the Armed detective Agency"

"Oh-of course" the officer said and quickly ushered him inside.

The lobby was surprisingly very clean for an old apartment building, No mucky stains and dust that littered the floor, no peeled rotten wallpaper, no torn up cushions. There was even a nice small vase filled with a bouquet of flowers sitting on the counter.

M/n continued to follow the officer as they passed a landscape painting until they stopped in front of an elevator.

Awkward silence...

"Give me a rundown on the case" M/n ordered the officer as they continued to wait for the elevator.

"Oh-Well we've received a report from one of the employees that they found a dead body on the second floor." The officer thoroughly reported "the victim has around five puncture wounds on his chest and a few scratches on his arm. The glass was broken as well, so we deduced that it's a robbery"

A loud ding from the elevator signaled its arrival. M/n and the officer stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the second floor.

The elevator groaned and creaked as it began its ascent, the old cables above their heads humming softly as the car slowly rose upwards. M/n plunged his nose. There was a slight smell of burnt rubber that exists in the elevator. After a few moments, the elevator shuddered to a stop, and the doors slid open with a cheerful ding.

"Was there anyone that entered this building?" M/n asked finally releasing a breath he didn't realize he was holding as he stepped out.

"well from the employees' alibi and the security footage, there wasn't anyone who entered the building" the officer replied

They both stop in front of a small crowd; Some onlookers from the other apartments being held back from the police blocked the hallway. M/n had to push through the tough crowd just to even get through to the crime scene.

As he finally got in he looked around the room. Just like what the officer reported the room was quite messy as it seemed the whole room was turned upside down. The wallpaper seemed scratched and drenched with blood that had longed dried up. The floor littered with shards of glass from the window and cluttered books from the broken shelf.

There in the middle of the bed was a man, probably around his 30's or 40's layed sprawled dead on his bed with dried blood.

M/n quickly turned back to the officers, giving them a jump. "Has forensics arrived?" He asked
