Chapter 9

The following morning, Ian awoke to find Cayden still in slumber. He rose from his bed without disturbing Cayden and proceeded to take a shower. After completing his shower, Ian returned to the bedroom, where he observed that Cayden remained asleep, and began preparing for his workday. Prior to departing for work, Ian approached the side of the bed where Cayden lay and gently kissed his cheek.

Ian then exited the bedroom, ensuring to close the door quietly to avoid waking Cayden. He put on his shoes and made his way to his workplace. Upon arrival, Ian was greeted by his supervisor, Katie. He subsequently commenced his duties at the bar, focusing on drink preparation.

During their work hours, Katie and Ian engaged in a conversation.

Katie: What is the nature of your relationship with Cayden?

Ian: What are you referring to?

Katie: Please tell me, did you ask him out?

Ian: I did.

Katie: I am pleased to hear that. When did you extend the invitation?

Ian: Two weeks ago.

Katie: It took you long enough, didn't it?

Ian: Likewise.

Katie smiled and shook her head.

At 6:30 PM, Katie remarked: "Alright, Ian, it is time to go home. I will see you tomorrow."

Ian responded: "See you, Katie."

I then departed to spend the evening with Cayden.

Following this day, the relationship between Ian and Cayden continued to develop. We frequently spent time together, culminating in the celebration of our five-month anniversary.
