The SharpFangs were a faction of Koopa warriors from another continent over. They were known for taking multiple wives and had a negative reputation for raiding, pillaging and kidnapping women.
The SharpFang raids in the Koopa Kingdon began during Alfred Koopa III's reign, eventually they were pushed back, but several SharpFang citizens remainded and maintained their own traditions and cultures. The SharpFang warriors eventually returned to try and take over the kingdom, and eventually, they would achieve their goal.
During Harold Koopa I's reign, the Koopa Kingdom was in an unstable place. The SharpFang leader, Ivar Redtooth took this as a chance to launch an attack on the kingdom and he managed to take over several areas in the kingdom. Harold ignored these attacks at first but was soon forced to march into battle. The king stood no chance however and was easilly defeated. With the king dead, Ivar travelled to Castle Koopa, where he took the throne for himself.
Over the next 100+ years, possesion of the Koopa Throne would change between the Koopa Royal Family and the SharpFangs, in a long and bloody war for the throne.
