It's 11:53. Seven more minutes to go. Felix thought as he sat by the window of his room, staring at the starry sky outside. He didn't know if it was because his birthday was approaching or not, but something about the night seemed particularly pleasant to the blond.

He could hear the whispers of the wind which blew against his perfect skin, the cool breeze making the hairs on his forearms rise up. The sound of the rustling of the leaves of the trees outside were crisp and clear to him, and for some reason it put him at ease. His long hair was tied up in a bun, leaving a few stray strands of blond dancing in front of his eyes as the wind blew into the room.

To him, nothing seemed more perfect than sitting by the window pane and drinking hot choclate while staring at the starry night sky. Of course, with the exception of his neighbour Changbin, who had the entire neighborhood floored by his big arms. He had the sweetest personality and a hella good physique. What more could a person want in a partner? Felix thought.

He loved how he was the only person up at this late hour, impatiently counting the seconds to 12 o'clock. When the clock read 11:55, Felix spun on his revolving chair to pick up a chocolate cupcake. There had been an programme in the locality the previous day, and knowing that his family usually doesn't go all out for birthday celebrations, he sneaked in a cupcake from the event and stored it in the kitchen fridge. He thought of it as a present for himself, and despite it being small and simple, he was content with it.

Just as he began to search inside his messy drawer for a lighter, a slight creaking noise outside his room makes Felix' ears perk up. Who was there at this hour? Was it a thief? Was someone going to kidnap him?? He did not plan for his birthday to go like this!

The creaking sound gets louder by the second, and the cupcake was long forgotten on Felix' desk as he cowered in fear. The source of the noise was starting to confuse him— he couldn't tell if the sounds were coming from outside the door or from outside the house entirely. The more he tried to focus on the noise, the more it sounded like it was coming from all around him. He slowly starts backing himself up against his desk, accidentally pushing his chair and making it bang against the wall. Felix silently gasps, bringing his hands up to cover his mouth in horror. Weirdly enough, the creaking sound stopped.

Huh. Felix thought. Was that all his imagination?

"Whatever, I should probably get some sleep," he tells himself as he notices the lone cupcake that sat atop his desk. As his hand makes it's way to the sweet treat, the creaking noise returns for a second and stops again. Felix immediately whips his head towards the window— he was sure that he heard it from outside this time.

But what was strange was that there was a little box that sat on his window pane now. He knew he'd remember keeping such an odd thing there, and it was suspicious that it appeared out of nowhere. Gathering his nonexistent strength and courage, Felix gets up and tiptoes towards the open window, internally freaking out about every possible living creature, human or not, that could be waiting for him outside.

Just as he was about the poke his head out the window, a head of fluffy brown hair suddenly springs up, scaring the shit out of Felix. He nearly lets out a blood-curdling scream, but the muscular man in front of him anticipated a loud reaction and covers his mouth in advance. Felix screamed nonetheless, though it was a lot more muffled that what would've been. If the lights in his room weren't dark and warm, Felix would've recognized the unwelcome guest in a jiffy— and even feel embarassed for not recognizing him. After all, it was his one and only love, Seo Changbin.

Once Felix got over the intial shock, Changbin pulls his hand away from his mouth and observes the soft features on the blond boy's face. The dim lamp in the corner of the room barely illuminated anything, but that was all they needed to get lost in each others eyes. No words were exchanged between them, and Felix stares at the older, mouth agape in disbelief.
