After walking away from Rick, Jane went to what was formerly their room, now her room alone. She turned on the TV, got into her pajamas, and settled down to watch "Beachfront Bargain." She lay there until she fell asleep. The next morning, she got up, grabbed her car keys, and prepared to deal with the divorce papers. She needed to get Nova ready for school and then head to work. Rick's car was already gone—he was probably already at the firm, which she now hated, since they would have to see each other every day after the divorce until she found a new job, which she was planning on.

"Alright... I've got the papers, now time to go home, get Nova ready and, then the worst days of my life starts right after... great." Jane sighed, brushing her messy hair out her face, while driving the car she currently was borrowing from a friend, and this time she made sure to keep her eyes on the road, at. all. times, after all she was still paranoid after the crash, and now she's getting a divorce not a day later.

"alright honey, I'll be here at 3:00 to pick you up ok?" Jane smiled, ruffling Nova's hair before giving her a kiss on the forehead.

"ok momma... also when you pick me up can we go get a snack?" Nova pleaded, giving her mom puppy eyes and a pout.

"Heh, alright alright sure, but i get to pick where we go this time, alright?" Jane smiled.

"ok! I'm gonna go sit now." she smiled, as she waved goodbye and ran off.

"Welp.. best keep her happy before the divorce." Jane sighed, as she walked out the preschool, and got into the car, and drove to the firm in less than 15 minutes.

Jane parked in the lot, her mind a whirl of thoughts. As she walked in the firm she was greeted by Lottie at the front desk while passing. They exchanged warm smiles before shifting right to they're respected works. Jane steps slowed as she stopped in front of her office door when she saw Rick standing impatiently in her office, like he had been waiting for the past hour for her to arrive.

"Rick, care to explain why your in my office? Don't you have an important meeting to get through with?" Jane said in a sharp tone, but tried to stay professional, but her meaning of tone was obvious.

"I'm assuming you got the papers already, haven't you, Jane?" He said bluntly, his gaze cold, as he took a few assertive steps in front of her.

"Rick, cut to it, you know damn well what the answer to your own question is." She scoffed in a cold tone, pointing a finger in his face, as he didn't fail notice the lack of ring on her finger.

"I see you've stopped wearing the ring already. You're really ready to get divorced aren't you, Jane?" He spoke, grabbing her chin, tilting it up to force her to look at him. " You wanted this from the start, didn't you? Your face says it all"

"Your games aren't working on me, Rick," She said coldly, pushing his hand away. "If you're not here to talk about a case, then I have to ask you to please leave my office."

"Just give me the papers, Jane, and I'll be out of your way." he spoke in a low tone, extending his hand towards her slowly, for the papers.

"Take it, and give it back at the end of the day." She spat, handing him the papers, once she did, he left without uttering another word.

After working on a recent case, Jane walked out of her office to the breakroom, where she was met with the face of one of her pears, Morarah Hill, who works in the building above yet works with the firm, and was currently helping with the case Jane was assigned to. Jane just stood there, staring until Morarah noticed.

"Are you going to keep staring, or are you going talk to me like a normal person?" She spoke, bluntly, but with a smiled plastered on her face.

"Oh, i just—" Jane stuttered, sweating, but Morarah interrupted her.

"No, no, it's fine. it's just usually, people look away sooner than this." Morarah smiled, giggling a bit.

"Oh, well um... I'm Jane, jane Enicola." Jane smiled, as she extended her hand out.

"Oh i know, i don't think Rick has told you, but he has talked about your planned divorce, to about everyone in the firm, Besides Aroura." Morarah spoke, standing up to shake Jane's hand.

"Of course, he just cant keep his damn mouth shut can he?" Jane sighed, walking towards the coffee maker, and grabbed a mug.

"I guess not, but then again, no one here can, can they?" Morarah smirked, as she sat back down.

"I guess not if Rick cant keep shut," Jane sighed, as she sat next to Morarah.
