The next morning I was woken up by an annoying rooster outside. Sadly it wasnt like my alarm clock where I could just smash it and it would stop. Nooo this damn thing made me get out of my bed just to go downstairs to an empty house. I checked everyroom, Jackson and Brooke were no where to be found. Sighing I made my way to the coffee maker to pour myself a mug. The steam rose up around my face as the hot liquid slowly slid down my throat. I could get used to this.
Around lunchtime Brooke and Jackson walked into the livingroom. The house had been filled with an aroma of chicken casserole that I had been baking, but the instant they stepped in my nose contorted to disgust.
"You smell like straight ul fish ass." I said but I sounded like Squidward because of me pinching my nose. I waved my free hand in front of my face, trying to wave the stinch away. The two siblings just laughed. "We have been fishing." My eyes shot up in horror. "You what?!?" I screamed as loud as I could, instantly I backed away from the two monsters in frony of me and began my anxious pacing the kitchen. "Them poor fish....you hooked them....they probaly need fishy stitches.....does that exist? Probally not... I bet they are suffering....oh God what if the choked on the bait?" I mumbled quietly to myself.
A small chuckle from a person next to me brought me out of my thoughts. "Why are you laughing?" I questioned, wondering how this was funny. Brooke answered for Jackson who was doubled over clutching his stomach to prevent him from bursting out loud. "I knew you was a city girl, but damn its fishing I mean what else would we eat for supper?" She said while holdingbup a yellow line that had fish on it I hadnt noticed before.
I.
Am.
Going.
To.
Faint.
I felt my legs turn into a bowl of jello as one of the tails swung. He was still alive. Oh my God. "Why did you put them on that...thing?" I asked pointing to the yellow line. For some unknown reason Jackson laughed even harder, "Its a stringer Rylin. Its so we can keep the fish." Thats when I couldnt take it anymore. My hand flew to my mouth, and my eyes widened. I heard Jackson mutter a few unfriendly words before following me. I ran as fast as I could to the bathroom, and dropped to my knees. I puked out all my stomachs contents, while Jackson held my hair.
He didnt rub my back. That shouldnt have bothered me but it did. My mom always did that when I was sick, and now she cant. All because I left her. Tears streamed down my face, as I stood up and staggered backwards. When I felt the cold tub hit the back of my legs, I sat down on the side. I rested my head down into my hands, elbows balancing on my knees. "Ry..." When I didnt answer Jackson sighed. His hand found its way to my knee as his thumb rubbed gently over my skin. I could sense he was about to say something so I interuoted him, "Can I borrow you car? I need some air." He looked hesitant at first but eventually nodded his head yes and pulled out his keys. They jangled in his hand as he slapped them into my open palm. "Be careful." I rolled my eyes "yes sir." I murmered before jogging down the stairs and through the back door. Not even realizing that I havent been anywhere by myself since my....incident. I climbed into the drivers seat. Sticking the keys into the ignition I tore away from the house. Gravel slung up around me and gray dust clouded around the tires as they sped off onto a back road.
A little while later and I was sitting in front of a an worn down barn, overlooking a pond. The colors of the sun danced across the water. Wild flowers in many shades of purple grew next to the dock on the opposite side of the pond. I crawled out of the vehicle and walked down to the water. The dock looked old but sturdy, so I slowly walked out to the edge. Peeling off my converse and Mickey Mouse socks I placed my feet into the slightly green water. The water was chilly but felt good against my skin. Goosebumps crawled up my arms as I looked out into the distance. You sure dont find this in the city. My mind wandered to my mom. On a normal day she would be sitting on the couch curled up with a book right now, but not today. Not with me missing. "I love you mom." I whispered to myself.
I jumped at the sound of a twig breaking. In a nano-second, my feet were out of the water and I was turned towards the noise. My hands were in a defensive position, but I spotted no one. Slowly I edged towards my shoes, it was getting dark anyways. So cautiously I slid them on and darted back to the car. The cars seat felt warm against my back, and the leather of the wheel felt powering in my hands. When I pulled away, I left all my worries back at the dock, ready to be swept away by the water.
I found a little time to update, hope you like it! Things are about to get REALLY good. I have to thank one person for that, so thank you soo much for the idea @ForeverYoung414! Vote! Coment!... All that good stuff thanks guys
