RYLIN POV***
A couple hours after my little run in with Darrel and the blonde haired girl came through the door. She was holding a glass of water and a wad of aluminum foil. Using my arms I pushed my self off the hard cot, sending waves of pain riverting through my stomach. I wandered what she was doing in here, Darrel said I wouldnt be getting dinner, and he didnt seem like the type of person to back out on my punishment. The girl slowly made her way to my way to me, occasionally stealing quick glances at the door. To my utter surprise, she opened her mouth to speak.
"Eat quick. There is two Advils, I will be back in five, and please dont tell Darrel about this." I nodded my head quickly in response before she practically sprinted from the room.
When the door clicked shut, I practically inhaled my food before downing the Advil as dessert. Not long after I heard the lock of the door clicking over. Scared I shoved the cup and trash under my pillow. When I saw the familiar head of blonde hair, I breathed a sigh of releif and handed her the evidence from my meal. I muttered a thank you, and in return she nodded her head and made a quick exit.
JACKSON'S POV***
I sat on my office chair tapping my foot on the floor and running my hand through my brown locks. We almost had the exact location of Rylin, as of right now the computer shows that she is on the left side of the county. Once we get the exact location it should only take us about thirty minutes to get there. The only bad part is that the connection is dropping.
We dont know the exact reason but there is alot of possibilites. She could have changed, she could be in an area where she is surroumded by concrete or other products that will minmize connection. Meaning it might not be 100% accurate, but we will take what we can get.
"Come on Jackson I know your worried abour her, and so am I. But you need to eat, when was the last time you had a decent meal?" I groaned in frustration at Brooke as she held out a plate of Cabbage Pudding. She was right, I did need to eat, but I cant. Im so nervous that even the thought of food makes me get sick. Right as I was about to respond to Brooke I heard the beeping noise I have been waiting three days to hear. In less than a nanosecond I had spun around and was facing the computer. A white box was popped on the screen giving me the option to 'Complete Location' I clicked accept and waited for the red dot to appear.
A couple minutes later and the dot appeared. It showed she was in the middle of the forest. Which yes is possibly not completly accurate, but either way we both jumped up and hugged each other. "We found her! Jackson you did it!" I was too busy trying to get over the shock and releif that my plan had worked to even respond. Instead I hopped back on the computer and printed of the location. I grabbed Brooke's hand and pulled her to the kitchen, where I picked up my keys from the counter.
When we were both buckled into our seat of the truck we sped out of the driveway. Gravel spit up from under the tires as grey clouds of smoke followed us out onto the county road. "Where is she?" My question was directed to Brooke as she placed a map on the dash and used the printout to locate her. A couple minutes later she answered. "She is off highway 11, next to the old shoe factory." Without responding, I followed her directions.
I parked the truck a couple miles away. We both clambered out, before quietly shutting the cab doors. I grabbed my hand gun from the tool box and handed Brooke hers. She may be a girl but she has better aim then me. On instinct we both ckecked the clip, and grabbed a box of bullets. When we was both ready we walked to the edge of the trees.
Blackberry thorns were scratching at my calves, but I stayed quiet as I stomped the vines over. I walked aheaad of Brooke but I could tell the walk wasnt to pleaseant for her either.
After an hour of endless hiking we came across an old barn. We searched the whole thing but didnt find anything until we went to the feed room. Hay was spread across the floors, but not well enough to cover the bright silver handle that was on the ground. I tugged up on the latch and it opened up to a dark set of stairs. I glanced back at Brooke who was clutching her hand gun and looking weary. I knew she was scared but loved Rylin like a sister. So we shared a nod before I slowly descended the stairs with Brooke following.
Sorry for the wait, but here is chapter 18. Hope you liked it. Vote comment thanks guys ~Bre
