The confession.
time skip 2023On a quiet, rainy afternoon Yooyeon and Seoyeon found themselves alone in the practice room after the rest of the girls had left early, the light patter of rain against the windows filled the room with comfortable silence between them. It had been a long day, filled with choreography rehearsals and back to back meetings, but in this quiet moment it was just the two of them.
The two of them have not had any time together for awhile since they switched houses and were no longer roommates. They could never find time to hangout and that saddened the both of them. They have been close "friends" since their trainee days, sharing laughter, struggles, dreams and secrets. They were each others biggest supports for awhile and over time a something unspoken had grown between them.
Seoyeon was stretching on the floor, looking out the window lost in thought. Yooyeon sat nearby, fiddling with the strings of her hoodie, feeling a strange tightness in her chest. She couldn't shake the feelings she'd been carrying around for so long, the ones she'd tried so hard to ignore.
"Seoyeon" she began, her voice hesitant but determined. "I... need to tell you something" Biting her lip, as she felt her cheeks start to flush.
Seoyeon looked up, her eyes gentle and curious "What is it"
Yooyeon took a shaky breath and stared at the girl infront of her for a moment "I think.. I really like you. Not just as a friend either.." She glanced away feeling a little embarrassed but also relaxed that knowing she finally got to say it out loud, it felt like a heavy weight lifted off her chest.
A surprised smile flickered across Seoyeon's face as she let out a small laugh, which made Yooyeon's heart skip a beat. Seoyeon then leaned in closer, her gaze softening. "Yooyeon, im not sure but I think Ive also felt the same way. For a long time I just wouldn't accept it" she said shyly as her cheeks began to flare up.
"Its not that I didn't know i just wanted to ignore it" she blurted out as she hid her face in embarrassment.
They both laughed, a little shy, but incredibly happy. In that moment, everything felt perfect as if the world had faded away, leaving only them and the warmth of each others presence.
They locked eyes, a heavy silence filled the room after the confessions they had just made. Yooyeon leaned in, her face closer to Seoyeon's and gently cupping her cheek with her hand trembling slightly. "Can I... kiss you?" she asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper, making Seoyeon's cheeks flush a deep shade of pink.
Seoyeon's breath hitched and for a moment, she just stared into Yooyeon's eyes, processing what she'd heard. Then, with a soft smile she gave a tiny nod that was barely noticeable but it was all Yooyeon needed, with that she leaned in slowly, their faces inches apart giving Seoyeon a chance to pull away if she wanted to. But Seoyeon didn't move instead she closed her eyes, her heart pounding in anticipation.
As their lips met, the kiss felt gentle and sweet, filled with the quiet affection they both had carried for so long. Not caring about the world around them that seemed to fade as they slowly embraced each other, feeling the warmth of their shared feelings. The two of them pulled back, both Seoyeon and Yooyeon were a little breathless, their cheeks flushed but they couldn't help the small shy smiles that crept onto their faces.
The both of them let out a little laugh, still a little shy but incredibly happy because in that moment everything was perfect. They spent the rest of the evening talking about their feelings with nervous giggles breaking through, their hands brushing but neither of them were daring enough to hold on too tightly.
