We stumbled through the hidden door, emerging into a narrow hallway that felt even colder than the morgue. The technician led the way, glancing back at us with a mix of fear and urgency. I could feel the weight of the night vision goggles resting on my head, a reminder of the darkness that surrounded us.

"Keep your goggles ready," Lyn whispered, adjusting his own. "We don't know what lies ahead."

The hallway was dimly lit, but we could see faint flickers of fluorescent lights above. I felt a wave of anxiety wash over me as we pressed on, every step echoing ominously. The air was thick, heavy with an oppressive silence that felt suffocating.

"Where are we going?" Sera asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"To the exit," the technician replied, glancing nervously at the shadows that seemed to stretch and shift around us. "But we need to hurry. They'll be looking for you."

I felt a shiver of dread. "Who? The orderlies?"

"No, worse," the technician said, their voice trembling. "The ones behind the experiment. They won't let you escape."

Just then, the lights above us flickered ominously, and I caught a glimpse of movement in the dark corners of the hallway. I felt a chill race down my spine, and I instinctively reached for my goggles. "Should we put them on?" I asked.

"Only if it gets too dark," Lyn replied, his voice tense. "For now, we can see well enough."

As we continued down the hall, the fluorescent lights began to dim further, casting long shadows that danced along the walls. I could hear distant voices echoing, and my heart raced. We had to keep moving.

Suddenly, the lights flickered one last time before plunging us into darkness. I quickly pulled my goggles down over my eyes, the world shifting to shades of green. I turned to Lyn and Sera, both of them looking back at me with fear etched on their faces.

"Let's go!" Lyn urged, pushing ahead as we followed the technician's lead.

The darkness enveloped us, the night vision providing just enough clarity to navigate the corridor. Shapes loomed in the shadows, but I focused on the technician, who seemed to know where they were going.

"Just a little further!" they called, their voice echoing off the walls. "The exit is just ahead!"

I could feel the urgency in their tone, and we pressed on, our footsteps echoing in the silence. As we rounded a corner, the faint outline of a door came into view, light seeping through the cracks around it.

"There!" Sera shouted, her voice filled with hope.

But just as we reached the door, a loud crash echoed behind us, and I spun around, heart racing. Shadows shifted ominously, and the sound of heavy footsteps grew closer.

"We have to go now!" the technician urged, reaching for the door handle.

Before we could react, the door swung open, revealing a blinding light. I squinted against the brightness, shielding my eyes as we stumbled into the room beyond.

"Quick!" the technician shouted. "Inside!"

We rushed in, and the door slammed shut behind us. The sudden silence was almost deafening, and as I took a moment to catch my breath, I realized we were in a control room, filled with screens and blinking lights.

"What is this place?" I asked, looking around at the chaotic array of monitors.

"This is where they monitor everything," the technician explained, glancing nervously at the door. "We can figure out how to escape from here."

Lyn stepped closer to one of the screens, his brow furrowed. "These are all the camera feeds," he said, pointing at a grid of live images. "We can see where the orderlies are."

"Good," I said, feeling a surge of determination. "Let's find a way out of here."

As we scanned the screens, I felt the weight of the night vision goggles on my head, a constant reminder that we were still deep within the darkness of this place. But for the first time, there was a flicker of hope. We had a chance to escape, and we would do whatever it took to uncover the truth and break free from the nightmare that had consumed us.
