As we trudged down the endless hallways, the sensation of reality slipping away grew stronger. Shadows warped around us, stretching unnaturally, like twisted specters watching from the corners of our vision. Every now and then, I'd see flashes-images of places that felt real but didn't belong here. A sunny field, a quiet street... and then they'd vanish, leaving only the cold, dim corridor.

Lyn's voice cut through the silence. "Do you feel it? Like... like we're not all here?"

I glanced at him, noting the anxious look on his face. "Yeah," I replied, my voice strained. "Like pieces of us are scattered."

Sera wrapped her arms around herself, shivering. "I feel like I'm somewhere else. Like... I don't know if what I'm seeing is real anymore." She looked around, her gaze flickering as though expecting something to leap out of the shadows.

Lyn frowned, his face determined. "Whatever they did to us, it's messing with our heads. But we can't give in to it. They're counting on us to break."

I nodded, clinging to his words as an anchor. But as we continued down the hallway, the sense of being watched became unbearable. My skin prickled, and I swore I could hear faint whispers-like dozens of voices murmuring just beyond reach, weaving in and out of my thoughts.

"Do you hear them?" I whispered, barely daring to breathe.

"Yeah," Lyn replied, his face tense. "But they're just... illusions. They're trying to get into our heads."

Suddenly, the whispers escalated into a crescendo, filling the air with a chilling harmony of voices repeating, "You can't escape... You can't escape..."

I pressed my hands over my ears, struggling to block it out, but the voices only grew louder, echoing through my mind. Panic flared in Sera's eyes, and she started to stumble back, pressing herself against the wall, her breaths quickening.

Lyn grabbed her shoulders, his grip firm but reassuring. "Stay with us, Sera," he said, his voice cutting through the chaos. "Focus on me. We're going to get out of here. Together."

With a shuddering breath, she nodded, the terror fading just a bit from her gaze. I looked between them, the weight of the nightmare pressing on all of us.

Lyn's words steeled me. Whatever this was-these voices, the warped reality around us-we would keep fighting. And we wouldn't let them tear us apart.
