Chapter 2: The Mystery Begins
The morning after the gala, Y/N awoke to the familiar sounds of sizzling pans and chopping vegetables. She was in her kitchen, where the aroma of fresh herbs and spices filled the air. As she prepared for the day ahead, her mind kept wandering back to last night’s encounter with Dua Lipa.
“Get a grip,” she muttered to herself, stirring a pot of simmering sauce. “It was just a celebrity. You’ve met plenty.”
But it was more than just a celebrity. Dua’s laughter had a contagious quality, and her enthusiasm for food had reminded Y/N why she loved cooking in the first place. Still, she shook her head, forcing herself to focus on the task at hand.
Later that afternoon, Y/N was in her office, going over the week’s reservations for her restaurant. Suddenly, her phone buzzed on the desk. It was a message from an unknown number.
Unknown Number: “Hi! Is this Y/N, the chef from last night’s gala?”
Y/N squinted at the screen, curiosity piqued. “Who is this?” she typed back.
Unknown Number: “It’s Dua! From the gala. I can’t stop thinking about the food you made. I need to find you. Are you free to talk?”
Y/N’s heart raced. “Dua Lipa?” She quickly composed herself, typing back with a hint of teasing. “You mean the Dua Lipa? The one who was stuffing her face on the balcony?”
Dua: “Guilty as charged! 😂 But seriously, I’m looking for the genius behind the food. Can we chat?”
Y/N chuckled, shaking her head at the screen. “Sure. What did you have in mind?”
Dua: “How about I treat you to coffee? I need to know how you did that magic with the salmon.”
Y/N paused, a smile creeping across her face. “Okay, coffee sounds good. But you should know, I’m not sharing any secret recipes.”
Dua: “Deal! But only if you promise to tell me where you get your inspiration. It must be something special.”
Y/N agreed, and they set a time to meet at a trendy coffee shop nearby. As she hung up, Y/N felt a flutter of excitement mixed with nerves. She hadn’t been on a date in ages—especially not one with a pop star.

Later that afternoon, Y/N arrived at the coffee shop, glancing around for Dua. The café was buzzing with patrons, the walls adorned with local art, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee hung in the air. When Dua walked in, it felt as if time slowed. She was effortlessly stylish in a casual outfit, her hair cascading over her shoulders as she scanned the room.
“Y/N?” Dua called, her voice cutting through the chatter. When she spotted Y/N, a bright smile spread across her face.
“Hey!” Y/N greeted, feeling a rush of warmth. “Thanks for coming.”
“Are you kidding?” Dua replied, sliding into the seat across from Y/N. “I’ve been dying to find you since last night.”
“So you really liked the food?” Y/N asked, raising an eyebrow playfully.
“Liked? More like obsessed!” Dua laughed, leaning in. “I can’t stop thinking about that crispy salmon. It was like a flavor explosion.”
“I’m glad you enjoyed it,” Y/N said, taking a sip of her coffee. “It’s always rewarding when someone appreciates the hard work that goes into it.”
“Rewarding? Try life-changing,” Dua countered. “I mean, I travel the world, but nothing I’ve tasted compares to what you did last night.”
Y/N felt a blush creeping up her cheeks. “Well, I put a lot of love into my dishes. It’s all about using fresh, quality ingredients.”
