Chapter 12: Epilogue
The soft sound of jazz music drifted through the air as Y/N entered the cozy restaurant where she and Dua had decided to celebrate their one-year anniversary. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with candlelight flickering on each table and the faint clink of glasses echoing in the background. It was a fitting place to reflect on the journey they had shared, from their serendipitous encounter at the gala to the deep bond they had forged.
Y/N wore a sleek black dress that hugged her figure perfectly, paired with delicate earrings that sparkled as she moved. She felt a blend of excitement and nostalgia as she scanned the room, her heart racing at the thought of seeing Dua. They had both agreed to make this evening special, and Y/N wanted everything to be perfect.
Just then, she spotted Dua entering the restaurant, looking effortlessly stunning in a deep emerald green gown that accentuated her vibrant spirit. Her hair cascaded in loose waves, and her smile lit up the room. Y/N’s heart swelled at the sight of her partner—each day spent together only solidified how much she cherished Dua.
“Hey there, beautiful,” Dua greeted, her eyes sparkling as she approached Y/N. “You look absolutely breathtaking.”
“Thank you! You’re stunning as always,” Y/N replied, returning the compliment with a warm smile. “I can’t believe it’s already been
Y/N chose a crisp white wine, while Dua opted for her favorite cocktail. As they waited for their drinks, the conversation flowed effortlessly.
“Do you remember the first dish I cooked for you?” Dua asked, a playful grin spreading across her face.
“Of course! How could I forget the disastrous attempt at making sushi?” Y/N laughed, recalling the kitchen mishap that had left them in stitches.
Dua feigned indignation, “Hey! That was a learning experience. I thought it was going to be a relaxing evening, and then I realized I couldn’t even roll sushi properly!”
“It turned into a memorable night for sure. I still have that photo of you looking completely defeated, with rice all over your apron,” Y/N teased, and they both burst into laughter.
“Maybe I should frame it,” Dua said with a smirk. “Remind myself of my humble beginnings in the kitchen.”
As their drinks arrived, Y/N raised her glass. “To many more years of culinary adventures and laughter!”
“To us!” Dua clinked her glass against Y/N’s, their eyes locking in a moment of shared understanding and affection.
After a few moments of comfortable silence, Y/N leaned in. “Do you remember the time you surprised me with that picnic in the park?”
Dua’s expression softened. “How could I forget? I thought you’d be thrilled with all those gourmet sandwiches and pastries, but you seemed more excited about the blanket I brought.”
“Hey, that blanket was cozy! You know how I love my comfort,” Y/N replied, grinning. “But honestly, that day was perfect. Just you, me, and the food.”
Dua’s eyes glinted mischievously. “Well, I was just trying to impress you. I had to show you my skills, right?”
“Your skills are impressive, but it’s your thoughtfulness that really gets me,” Y/N said, her voice sincere. “You always know how to make every moment special.”
Dua leaned back, looking thoughtful. “You know, before I met you, I was always so focused on my career and touring that I didn’t think much about personal connections. You changed that for me.”
