Friday came quicker than expected. Having three classes on this days made me feel like I had to work extremely hard for the weekend to be able to come. Between teaching, I made sure to occupy myself with grading as much assignments as I could possible so my weekend could be free. Compared to the classes, the club was far easier to handle.

Before summer time even started, I already had activities, meetings and assignments all scheduled out for the next school year. The assignments for my classes on the other hand? I got them done at the exact day of the deadline..

My mother would cringe if she heard me say that.

I took the liberty to take my millionth break of the day to check on the bills I had due at the end of the month.

I regretted that decision immediately.

Why on earth is everything getting more expensive now that I'm living on my own? I can never get used to this..

And as if faith was on my side, I heard my phone ding from my table. I picked it up to check the message, assuming it was Jayce giving me another update about Powder or Mel. I was surprised to see it wasn't him.

•Grayson:
Kiramman, I hope you're doing well. If you're interested, we have a job for you tonight. It'll be in Zaun.

I couldn't help but sigh deeply.

During my time as a student in the university, I payed for my own tuition by being a tutor in the day, but also being a security guard at night. Tuition was expensive on its own, not including my rent and bills on top of it. I worked with the enforcers as an independent position. I was sent wherever I was needed whether that was a jail, prison, or a random building that needed some muscle and security there.

I enjoyed that every night was something new, especially since I hadn't really explored much of the city of Piltover or Zaun at that time.

Now, I'm more content being at my current job where I'm actively making a difference with these girls and my other students. Doesn't mean I don't need the extra cash and a little bit of excitement from here and there.

Caitlyn:
I'm doing well, thank you. I hope you are as well. I'm interested, send me the details.

I sighed again after sending the text and putting my phone down. I couldn't help but remember the earlier times after I left my parents' house. I actually left straight after I graduated high school at the age of 17, but I focused more on tutoring full-time in order to pay for my studio apartment and bills as well as training at the enforcers' academy.

Once I was 18 and finally enrolled at the university, I finished the training and immediately received the position offer as a floater security guard that I accepted without hesitation. I was barely 2 weeks in and I couldn't help but call my father after feeling completely overwhelmed.

I didn't want to admit it to myself at the time, but I missed my parents.

"Your mother doesn't have to know I'm helping you, Caitlyn. I want what's best for you, at least let me help you out with your tuition."

My father said over the phone as I sat at the front desk of a county jail.

"Thank you, dad, but I don't need anyone's charity." Everything has already been handed to me all my life. All my wins, all my trophies. Despite always having above average skills than everyone else, my parents never hesitated to pay anyone out to let me win.
