Ella's POV:
I start crying again once I realize that Scott and Mitch are the ones in the parking garage. They're going to hate me now. They're going to throw me back on the streets, and I'll have to go back to my dumpy, poor excuse of an apartment.
I caved. I took four of the beers and drank them all.
I hear footsteps coming closer to me. I curl up tighter than I already was, stuffing my face into my knees. I was doing the classic, 'If I can't see them, they can't see me.' But, of course, it didn't work. It never has, never will.
Scott calls my name a few times, and I don't respond. I just want him to go away, Mitch too.
He does the exact opposite of that, and starts walking towards me. "Ella?" He asks.
I still don't respond. He kneels down next to me, putting a hand on my shoulder. I feel him tense up. He must either see the beer bottles, or smell the alcohol.
"Ella, are you okay?" He asks.
"I'm sorry."
He just stays like that for a second. "Ella," he says, "why are you sorry?"
I don't answer him, another wave of sobs taking over. I'm crying so hard I'm shaking. He decides to pick me up, bridal style, holding me close to him. I burry my face into his chest, not wanting him to see me in this state. Although he's seen me passed out in the middle of the street.
He walks slowly, whispering something to me, but I don't really know what. I can't focus on his words. I'm exhausted and buzzed.I'm not really sure, but I think I fell asleep in his arms when he was walking through the parking garage and back to the apartment.
Scott's POV:
I pick Ella up. I wasn't going to stay in the smelly garage all day. I walk back towards Mitch, and Ella stuffs her face into my chest. She's still crying a little bit.
I give Mitch a look of, 'She's not okay,' and he follows me as I walk by him.
As I'm walking back towards the entrance to the apartment building and towards the apartment, I realize that Ella has fallen asleep. I instinctively hold her even closer to me.Back inside the apartment, Ella is asleep on the couch, and Mitch and I are talking.
"Mitch, I honestly don't know what to do. There is obviously something wrong with her, and I feel like we need to help. Like we're obligated."
He sits there, thinking for a moment. "I mean," he begins, "It's not really our responsibility to look after her. We barely even know her. We basically just know her name."
I sigh, rubbing my face, "We can just leave her to go back to that awful apartment building she lives in. Look what happened there."
"I know, but what happens when we have to work, and tour, and arrange?" He whispers.
I shake my head, "Something tells me she's been through an awful lot, and she needs something, or someone, to help her."
Mitch shakes his head, "Whatever. She does seem like she's been through a lot. If you think we should help, I guess we can."
I grin, "Thanks. And to be honest, I want to get to know her better, too."
A/N: Hey everyone!!! Thanks for reading this far into the book, and sorry for the crappy chapters lately. I'm trying to lead into where Ella opens up a little to Scott! Anyways, look forward to better chapters, and ily <3
