I bit my lower lip nervously as I looked around the airport for my cousin. I’m from Chicago so I didn’t know my way around.

My phone rang and I answered, seeing that it was her.

“Gurl, where you at?” I asked.

“What you mean?”

“I’m at the airport and I don’t see you.”

“Ain’t your flight tomorrow?” she said making me scrunch up my face.

“Bitch, you better be joking.”

“Yea I am, turn your flat ass around.” She chuckled before hanging up.

I looked behind me and saw her. I smiled, dropped my bag, and walked up to hug her.

“Heyy Shai, it’s been a while.”

“And you glown up since I last seen you at aunt Mae’s wedding,” she mumbled, and I blushed.

“I know right, thank you for noticing.” I gave her a three-sixty.

“I should’ve said nothing.” She rolled her eyes and I playfully hit her arm.

“This all your bags?” she asked, and I nodded.

I picked up the bag and she grabbed my suitcase before we headed to her car. My eyes got wide seeing the black Maybach SUV.

“Wow, nice car,” I commented as I got in the passenger seat.

“Not mine.” She sighed. “I hope you don’t mind, I got friends over at my apartment.”

I shrugged and she smiled at me before driving off from the airport.

I paired my phone to the car and put on my playlist, listening to RnB songs.

I was tired and ready to hit the bed when we finally got to her apartment which was my new home. I was kinda excited for the fresh start.

I followed behind Shai as she opened the door and walked in. I froze seeing two of her guy friends passed out on the couch.

Red cups were lying all over and empty bags of chips while the TV was watching them.

I didn’t even wanna know.

I turned to face Shai. “My new bedroom?”

She pointed at the door and I walked towards it.

“I’m going to sleep already. Goodnight, I guess,” I told her, and she gave me a thumbs up.

I headed in and dropped my stuff next to the door before I switched on the light.

I paused and furrowed my eyebrows when I saw some guy sleeping on my bed.

Why the hell?

He looked hella fine though but I couldn’t be quite sure cause his eyes were closed.

“Excuse me sir,” I whispered, tapping his cheek to wake him up.

He moved a little before slowly opening his pretty brown eyes.

“Who are you?”

“I’m Lakaela, and you in my bed,” I spoke, and he chuckled lowly.

“Hi Lakaela, I’m Trevon.”

I forced a smile. “Nice to meet you, now get out my bed.”

“But I got nowhere to sleep, and there’s plenty of space. Can you share?” he asked softly.

I huffed, giving in.

“Well, since you asked nicely.”

“Thank you, princess.” He cheesed before closing his eyes.

I blushed at the pet name.

I switched off the light, took off my slides, and put my phone on the nightstand before I laid next to him but under the covers.

I was tense but I quickly fell asleep.
