I was roaming around the institute because I was feeling bored out of my mind, and I saw Isabelle wearing a labcoat with her hair up looking like some professional scientist.

"Izzy, wait up!" I called out to her as I jogged my way towards her direction.
"Look at you, girl. Where are you headed looking all professional?" I asked her. She rolled her eyes playfully. "I'm going down to the forensics lab to check up on the Forsaken." She said, and I nodded my head. "Can I follow you? I wanna see how the lab looks. Please?" I asked, using my puppy dog eyes. She nodded her head, and I followed her, smiling brightly.

It was a long walk, but we made it to the lab, and I was astounded at how everything looked. This was definitely way better than my high school's science lab. And this coming from me is weird cause I hated science.

"You almost done yet?" Isabelle suddenly asked, and I was about to answer her because I thought she was talking to me, but then I froze in place when I saw Magnus. He didn't see me yet, and thank god. He looked so serious doing his magic.

"Patience is a virtue, my dear." He said, finally looking up, and before he could see I was in the lab, I darted out and let out a breath.

"I don't know how I'll be able to face to him.."

Magnus Point of View.

"Patience is a virtue, my dear." I said before looking up at Isabelle, but I sensed that my little Angel was inside, so I turned, but she wasn't here. I shrugged it off and focused on the task at hand.

Isabelle made her way towards my side. "Come on. I want to get my hands on that thing." She said. Should I ask her about Nevaeh? I'll ask her about Nevaeh. "Just wondering, how's Nevaeh doing? I was hoping to bump into her on my way here, but I didn't see her anywhere."

Isabelle examined the Forsaken's body and sniffed a little. "Putrefaction. It's decomposing." She said, avoiding the topic. "It's just so hard to tell whether or not she's still mad at me or even will ever forgive me. At all." I said, trying to get something out of her. "Well, she has been busying herself with shadowhunter duties." She said, and I sighed in relief, glad to know she's okay.

"Well, I suppose. With Clary's arrival.." I said
"And Valentine's return.." added Isabelle.
"She's basically well running the institute." I concluded with pride in my voice.
"The envoy from the Clave.." she said with a hint of annoyance.
"Whom I hear is very impressive. What else..,"
"She's also comforting my brother about God knows what, I literally forgotten and about my parents finding him a wife. Lydia mentioned that both him and Eva looked cute together when they were heading towards Jade Wolf for the Forsaken attack." She added once again, and my smile dropped, and I looked at her.
My angel and Alexander?

Isabelle realised what she had just said and looked at me apologetically. "Sorry." She said. I shook my head, showing that I was unbothered, which I am. "That's quite alright. I suppose they are very close. Knowing Nevaeh, she has a soft heart and likes to comfort people when needed." I said, and she nodded my head.

"My brother doesn't get the luxury of following his heart, I guess Nev is trying to prove him wrong." She said and continued examining the body. "I'm gonna go deliver the preliminary findings. It seems like you have everything under control here." I said before covering my nose, from smelling too much putrid from the body and made my way out of the lab.

Nevaeh's Point of View

I was back downstairs, where Simon's body was, and slowly made my way towards the table. I sat down at the edge of the table and grabbed Simon's hands in mine.

"I really wish this was a bad dream right now.." I said, chuckling a bit. "All my life, it was always you, me, and Clary. The perfect trio. As you always say. But now? It's not so perfect now, is it? Come back, Simon.. I need you back. Clary needs you too.." I said and placed a kiss on his forehead before getting up from the table and making my way back upstairs.

I made it to the top of the stairs when I was met with Clary. "Hey, clary.." I said sadly and tried wiping my tears.
"Hey..you okay?" She asked, concerned. I nodded my head. "It's almost sunset. Did you make up your decision yet?" I asked her, curious but also scared at what she's going to say.

"Not yet.." She said, and I nodded my head, understanding. "I assume you guys are going to head towards the cemetery?" I asked, and Jace nodded his head. "I'll meet you guys there. I just need to calm myself down." Clary nodded my head and gave me a hug before I walked away from them and headed towards the training room.

I took off my shirt, and I was left in my training bra and leggings. I made my way towards the punching bag and started punching it, letting all my anger out on the poor defenceless punching bag. But before I could get another hit on it, a hand was wrapped around my wrist to stop me. I looked up, and it was Alec.

"Hey Alec.." I said softly. "Sorry, I had to stop you. You looked like you were about to murder the bag." I laughed lightly and punched his shoulder playfully. "Very funny, Lightwood." I said, and he shrugged his shoulders, smiling. "Here, I'll help you train." He said, and I agreed. We started sparring and I won. I offered my hand to help him up, and he took it. But not to help himself up, oh no. It was to bring me down, so I fell to the ground beside him. I looked at him, betrayed. But then started laughing.

"You dumbass!" I said in between my laughs. I heard footsteps, so both of us got up from the floor. I looked at the person who approached us, and it was Magnus.

"Magnus." I said. "Nevaeh." He said back and completely ignored me before handing a document, which I assume are the preliminary findings of the Forsaken to Alec. "These are the preliminary autopsy findings." He said as he handed the document to Alec. Alec took it and looked at Magnus, confused. "Why are you giving these to me? They should go to the head of the Institute." He said, and Magnus looked at Alec as if he grew 3 heads.

"And it is." He said, still ignoring my existence. "I'm not. And i never will be." Alec said, and I caught some sadness in the tone of his voice. "Why would you think that?" I asked.

"It's just.. ever since I found out that my parents were part of the Circle, it's like my whole life... has been a lie. Now everything I've ever known is.."
"It's not what you thought." Magnus finished off. Alec nodded. I looked at Alec, feeling bad for him, but just stood by him for comfort.

"I've done everything for my parents. For the Clave, and I've done everything that they've asked." He said, feeling angry. Well, I felt that he was angry, which he probably was, but we can't be too sure. Magnus was just listening and nodding his head, not saying anything, but he looked like he wanted to say something, but he shouldn't at the same time, so I turned towards Alec and said it for him.

"Maybe you should start living for yourself." I suggested. "How by the angel can i even do that?" He asked, a bit frustrated. "Do what's in your heart, Alexander." Magnus finally said, and I nodded my head. Alec sighed deeply and looked at both of us. "I can't believe I'm saying this but..I think both of you are right." He said, and I smiled softly at him before he walked out of the training room, leaving both Magnus and I alone.

Magnus turned to leave, but I stopped him. "Can we talk?" I asked him. He turned back, and finally, he looked towards me. "Talk about what? You and Alexander?"

"What? No, that's not what I meant -" I tried saying,
"Maybe about how you're fitting in with your shadowhunter duties?"
"Magnus, stop cutting me off. I only meant
"Or how you have replaced me with a shadowhunter? Not a downworlder like me."

I looked at him in disbelief. "Are you serious right now? Did you really forget that I'm part downworlder too? So what are you trying to say?"

"Maybe I'm trying to say that we don't belong together. Well, you are part shadowhunter, angel, so why did I ever think that we would fit perfectly together? I guess i shouldn't have thought about my heart." He said and turned to leave. "Magnus. Magnus! Wait! Don't do this, please!" He kept on walking and never turned back.

Why are you doing this to me?
