Louis' POV

I got home at about 2:30 a.m. I was surprised that anyone was still up when I walked in. What I wasn't surprised to see is that it was Niall watching "Friends" and eating a bag of chips.

"Hey mate, how did it go with Alice?" he asked me, not averting his eyes from the tv. "It was great, I learned so much about her," I told him. "So did you get her number?" He asked me. "Oh shit! I forgot to get her number! Wasn't that the whole point of this? How could I be so stupid!" I said, trying not to freak out too much. "Did you check your pockets?" Niall said, finally looking away from the tv. "Well I don't know why anything would be in my pockets, but I guess it couldn't hurt to check," I said. I shoved my hands into my front and back jean pockets. Nothing. I dug through the side pockets on my jacket. Nothing. I reached into my breast pocket. I pulled out a note.

Dear Louis,

Well. I told you to come if you wanted my number. You came. I said we would talk. We talked. I enjoyed our chat. I enjoyed spending time with you. I would like to hang out again sometime. Thus, I thought it would only be fair to keep my side of the deal. Contact me sometime.

-Alice

And her number was at the bottom.

"That sneaky little..." I started. "What did she do?" Niall asked me. I handed him the note. "Wow! She's sly! How do you think she managed to slip that to you without you noticing?" He asked me. I thought for a second. "It must've been when I gave her a piggyback ride!" I realized. "You gave her a piggyback ride?" Niall scoffed. "Yeah, her feet were hurting so I carried her back to the library," I explained. "Spoken like a true gentleman," he told me. "So did you kiss her?" He asked me. "Kiss? No. It wasn't even a date, Niall. Besides, she told me I was a "new friend", anyways," I said defensively. "Well don't give up just yet. Lots of couples start out as just friends," he reassured me. "Do you like her, Louis?" He asked me. I hadn't even been able to admit it to myself, but I guess now would be the time. "I think so, Niall. I think so. But I'm not supposed to. And I don't think she feels the same way," I said quietly. "Well whatever the case, I've got your back, mate. Don't give up on her just yet. And the worst that could happen is that you guys just stay friends," He told me. "Thanks Niall, I really appreciate it, mate. I'm gonna go get some sleep. See you in the morning," I said and walked upstairs to get some sleep.

Alice's POV

I woke up late, at about 10:30 a.m. I walked into the kitchen where Kat was already waiting for me. "We have things to... discuss," she said, putting emphasis on the word "discuss". "Oh yeah? Like what?" I aksed, pretending to be oblivious to what she was hinting at. "You know very well 'what' I'm talking about, Alice. How was your date with Louis?!" She questioned. "It wasn't a date, Kat. I don't have time for a relationship, anyways. And even if I did, I don't think he would be interested in me," I said to her. "Um, he would totally be into you! Do you not see the way he looks at you?" she looked at me as if I was crazy. "No I don't 'see the way he looks ay me'. Maybe you're just seeing things," I insisted. "Well, whatever. How was your 'walk'?" she asked. "It was very nice. I learned a lot about him. He's so cool. And super funny too," I gushed. "He's funny? We all know if a guy can make Alice laugh, he's a keeper! Gimme more details! What did you guys do?" She pressed. "Well, I walked him to my favorite spot in the park. Then when we walked back, my feet started hurting, so he gave me a piggyback ride! It was really sweet of him," I continued to gush. "He gave you a piggyback ride! Awh! Did you give him your number?" she squealed. "Well, I slipped it into his pocket, but I didn't say anything. If he checked his coat pocket, he would find it," I told her. "You didn't tell him?! What if he never gets it! What if you never see him again?!" She exclaimed. "Then that's that. If I don't see him, it wasn't meant to be. I'll let fate decide," I told her.

And it looked like fate had decided because just then, my phone went off.

You're a clever one, you know that? I had a great time last night, Alice. I would also like to hang out again. Say a movie night tomorrow at my place?

I replied with:

I'm glad you found my note, Louis. Who all would be at this movie night? Coud I bring Kat?

He responded shortly after:

Yeah, that would be great. It'll be just me, you, Kat, and the boys. See you at 7?

I finished out conversation with:

Until then, Tomlinson. See you tomorrow at 7.

"Who's that?" Kat asked me. "It's fate," I told her. She looked confused. "We'll be joining the boys for a movie night tomorrow, Kat. Louis found my note," I explained. "Oh my god, this is insane. Alice you're a genius!" She was so excited. "Baby I know," I joked. We both laughed and continued on with our days.

Author's note:

Sorry this chapter was so short! What do you think's going to happen at movie night? And ooh, Louis admitted he liked Alice! The next chapter will be longer, promise.
