"Welcome to your new home, Piper." I smiled as I led the 16 year old inside of my house.

She looked around as I put her suitcase on the ground. "Do you like it?" I asked

She nodded, "This is amazing. Wow."

"Want to see your room?" I asked as I looked at her walk around the room.

"Sure," she nodded with a smile.

I pulled at her elbow and dragged her gently down the hall, through the right door. "We can repaint and redecorate all you want." I said

She looked around, "it's wonderful, mr. Lincoln"

"Andrew." I said in a bossy tone.

"Andrew.." she said with a nodd

"we can go shopping for furniture tomorrow if you'd like." I suggested

"Would be nice." she replied shyly, "what about school?" she added

"Well, you're starting school after New Years break, so around the 15th of Jamuary." I said simply

"Sounds nice. I haven't been to a real school since I was 10." she answered

"Anyway, what do you think about dinner? What do you like to eat?" he asked in his typical British accent that I had noticed only a couple of times before.

"Uhm, I really adore pizza." she chuckles nervously.

"Pizza it is then." I simply said, "Come on, let's go out and eat some."

"Okay Andrew, let me get my jacket." she said walking back to the room that is now officially hers.

I put on my jacket aswell, grabbed my car keys and waited for Piper to come back to the front door.

"Let's go." I said, placing my hand on her shoulder.

When we arrived at the pizza house, we took our seats and ordered.

"What would you like?" I asked her

"Hawaii please," she said to the waitress. "Same for me then." I replied to the waitress.

The waitress took the menus back with her and she left.

"So.. do I call you dad?" she asked all of the sudden.

I chuckled slightly, "You don't have to call me anything. Whatever makes you feel comfortable. You can call me Andrew if you want, Andy, dad, daddy, father, doesn't matter."

She smiled, "You're really kind."

"You are too." I said with a bright smile

"I guess I just want to thank you for.. adopting me." she said

I smiled, "No need to thank me. I just hope you'll like me, and that you'll like the house and stuff."

"The house is really lovely. And you are too, I hope we'll get along great." she smiled

"I hope so too."

"Okay."

"Okay."

They brought our pizzas and we ate them, making jokes and having laughs every slice of pizza we ate.

When we arrived back at
the house, Piper started unpacking her stuff and putting it in the closet. I walked in her room as stated at her figure walking around the room.

"Can I help you?" I asked kindly

"Uh no, I'm almost ready, it's fine."

I walked over and sat down on her bed. "Can we have a little chat?" I asked

"Yeah... sure."

She sat down next to me, I opened my mouth but no words came out. "Piper.. I"

She looked at me questioningly. "Piper I am so sorry for what happened to you." I said

She sighed sadly. "Have you ever talked to someone about what happened to you?" I asked

She shook her head, "Not really, no."

"Well I'm here if you ever want to talk about it." I smiled kindly.

"I know, thanks."

"Can I ask you one more thing?"

She nodded

"How did you deal with it?"

I think I already knew the answer, I've seen a lot of things happen like this.

"It gave me trust issues, I started hating myself & self harm." she said simply

My eyes filled with tears. "When was the last time you hurt yourself?"

"Last Wednesday."

"Well that's gonna change. I'm gonna make you happy." I said, being oh so sure of myself. I was going to be a parent, I was going to be her friend.

"Please do." she sighed

"I will," I whispered as I wrapped my arms around her neck. I hugged her tightly and she hesitated a bit until she decided to hug me back.
