**Petey woke up. "Uuuugh. . ." He groaned, sitting up. He looked at the clock on his beside table, which read 6:00 pm. "Huh," he muttered "I would've assumed that it would be the next day when I next woke up. . . Wait, what happened?" He said aloud. Then he remembered. "Shit. . ." He groaned. This is going to be awkward. He thought. He slowly sat up and sighed. He looked over at the portrait of his mom on the bedside table, and smiled softly. He got up, stretched, and walked out of his bedroom tentatively. He walked out into the living room, where Lil' Petey was laying on the floor drawing, 80-HD doing so with him, and Dogman was watching them, smiling with some of his tongue sticking out. He stared for a bit, not wanting to ruin the cute moment. He looked at DogMan's face, feeling warmth on his. He took a breath, and stepped further out into the living room. "Hey kid, what'cha drawing?" He asked quietly. His son looked up at him. "Hi papa! I'm drawing me, 80-HD, you, and Dogman!" He lifted up the paper to Petey's face so he could look at the half-finished drawing. "You're improving everyday kid!" He ruffled LP's head affectionately. He sat down on a chair, avoiding eye contact with Dogman, though he could feel his gaze on him. He shifted nervously in his chair. Lil' Petey noticed this. "Are you ok papa?" He asked. Petey looked at his son, slightly surprised that he noticed. "Of course kid!" "Alright. . ." LP could tell that Petey was lying. I'll have to investigate with Molly soon. He thought determinedly as he went back to drawing with 80-HD. Petey felt a tap on his shoulder and jumped. He looked at Dogman, who had tapped him on the shoulder. "You alright?" He signed, his face not showing pity, but a mix of sympathy and worry. "I'm fine Dogman, I just. . ." He trailed off, looking at LP. "I was just having a bit of an off day, if you know what I mean!" He said with forced humor. He realized that Dogman's hand was still on his shoulder. He frowned and shrugged it off. Dogman looked at him almost sadly? He walked over to LP and signed some stuff to him, probably about squirrels. Petey felt that oh so familiar guilt bubbling up inside of him. Great. He thought. He signed, running his hand through the fur on his head. "Papa, are you sure that you're ok?" Petey looked down to see LP, his hands on Petey's knees. "How did you move so quickly kid? And yes, I'm sure that I'm ok. I just. . ." He trailed off. "Ya just what papa?" Lil' Petey asked as he climbed onto his lap. "Being at the hospital earlier today, I was. . ." He sighed. "I was reminded of my mom." He looked at the floor over to the right. When he looked back, he saw LP standing up in his lap, face to face with him. "I'm sorry papa! I forgot that gramma died in a hospital." LP gave his dad a hug, which Petey returned back. "It's alright kid, I shouldn't have let it get to me." He frowned. "Papa! You can't help stuff like that! It's not your fault." LP said, pulling back from the hug to grab Petey's face with his paws. Petey stared at Lil' Petey, the part of him who he had lost all those years ago. He smiled sadly. "I know, sometimes it just feels like it's my fault." He looked over at Dogman, who was staring at him, for some reason. Petey began to feel flustered and noticed his face felt warm. What the hell??? Why is my. . . "Shit." He muttered. "What is it papa?" LP asked, a bit startled by the curse. "Not you kid, I uhhh, just realized I didn't finish making adjustments to Dogman's translator, yep!" He stuttered. He quickly stumbled back into his room and fell back into his chair. Am I falling in love with Dogman?
