Chapter 7

"This isn't any of your business" Josh said angerly.
"Actually it is considering that's my girl your messing with and even if she wasn't, she said to stop and that means to stop." His girl? Why did he say that? We're not dating or anything I'm not his girl I guess I'll have to verify that later.
"Your girl? Ha funny she don't like fake country boys like you."
"You better let go of her and just leave before things get ugly, so go now."
"Whatever." Josh said as he let go and walked away. That was very intense I'm glad that no one got hurt besides me.
"Did he hurt you at all or touch you, I mean are you okay?" Lee said worriedly.
"Yea I'm sorry you had to see that and you didn't have to do what you did I mean I'm thankful but you didn't have to."
"Oh I did because you're very special to me and I'm not going to let anyone hurt you and I'm just glad I showed up when I did."
"I'm glad too but I have a question." I say as he helps me in the truck.
"I'm listening" he says with a grin.
"Why did you call me your girl I mean I liked the way it sounded but why did you say that?"
"Well for one I knew he'd leave you alone and because in my mind even though we're not dating, you're still my girl." When he said that I could feel my face light up, it was something I haven't  felt in a long time. "So where you want to grab a bite to eat at?" Lee says while stopping at a traffic light. I look at him and say "I'm not really in the mood to eat right now especially after that incident." I immediately feel bad I see his face go from excited to disappointed so I say "While I mean I could always get something for later." He turns and smiles and asks " Have you ever been to Benny's Chop House ?" I sit there with the most confused look on my face. All I have think about is how sexy he is and the way he stood up for me earlier. I was too busy daydreaming I didn't realize he was asking me questions so I try playing it off by saying " Oh I've never been there." I'm hoping he didn't realize I was zoned out. "Oh wow I have to take you sometime it's my favorite place to get steak." Thank the lord he didn't realize but now he mentioned steak I'm starting to have an appetite a huge one at that matter. I look out the window and say " You know I really liked you but I just don't understand why you had to make a bet, it hurt. A lot actually I mean you made me feel like the only girl in the world and I truly started falling for you and then BOOM ! I knew it was too good to be true it's..." He cuts me off and starts one of his long stories " I know what I done was really messed up and I know sorry doesn't fix everything it again what it's worth I am truly deeply sorry Hun and I'll do whatever it takes to fix it no matter how long it takes because  you know what ? You worth it. Actually you're worth so much more and I'm going to be to one to show you your worth." I sit there speechless unable to say anything because no one has ever said anything that sweet to me before I just don't know what to do, he hurt me pretty bad but he also gets me butterflies in my little belly.

After we eat the biggest steak I've ever seen, we go for a ride for a few before I have to get home. He stops in the middle of a field and I start getting nervous especially with all the horror movies I've seen. He puts pillows and blankets in the bed of the truck and literally pull me out of the truck and we lay in the bed of his truck and just stare at the stars and trying to play connect the dots "Oh look that one looks like a shoe!" He screams in my ear. "Oh my god that one looks like a... a.. STAR!" I scream back at him. We both start busting out laughing. He stares at me and leans in closer just smiling like an idiot. "Look you're a very pretty woman and I'd do anything to have you in my life again, I was stupid and made some stupid choices but please give me a second chance sweetie I promise you won't regret it." I just stare at him and think of the bet and everything and I'm scared. I'm tired of everyone walking all over me and basically treating me like a hotel and can come and go as they please. The real world doesn't work that way and I'm pretty sure it hasn't work like it and never will. "I'm sorry I just need some time, a lot has haven't today and it's a lot to handle if you want to truth but I'll either call you tomorrow or the next day but I think right now I just need to go home and spend some alone time."
"Oh yeah I understand I just wanted you to know how I felt and please take it into consideration while you spend some alone time and whatever you decide I'll still be here wether you choose to be in a relationship together or to just be friends I'll always be here for you and will always stand up for you and please never forget that." He looks so upset. I never meant to hurt him I just really need time to myself to think and try coming up with a plan of how to deal with everything. I turn and say " I'll definitely take that into consideration but please just take me home."
