The next day as stated, a big group of us carpooled in Tyler’s van and Bella’s truck down to La Push beach. It was as long of a ride as it was to my work, so I was pretty used to it, plus Bella, Hunter, Sasha and I all sang Avril Lavigne at the top of our lungs, courtesy of Hunter’s new CD. When we reached the beach and found the guys everyone grouped up and started getting into their wetsuits. Cam and Adam showed up a few minutes later, Addy had a small digital camera with him that he could take pictures with while he walked on the beach Bella and I.

“Hey, it's freezing.”

“I'm paddling out, Coates,” Tyler jogged by, already ready

“I don't know if it's worth it anymore.”

“We drove all the way out here, I'm at least paddling out.”

“Yeah. She's right.”

“You guys are babies.”

“Shut up Hunt.”

Bella, Angela and I all snickered as we watched Mike, Eric and Jessica all bicker with each other. I turned my head, seeing Hunter and Camden zipping each other's suits up. In a strange way those two were like an old married couple, but they were also as platonic as two people could be.

“So, I keep thinking Eric's gonna ask me to prom, and then he just— doesn't,” Angela sighed

“You should ask him,” I shrugged, eating from a bag of Lays Bella had in the car

“Yeah,” Bella nodded along “Take control, you're a strong, independent woman.”

“I am?” The poor girl blanched

“Yes,” I insisted, giving Angela a soft smile

“Alrighty buddy, gimme five!” Cam held his hands up, Addy whacked his own hands against them messily “Alright, let's ride!”

Everyone cheered, barreling down the beach almost toppling over one another. Addy ran down shouting after his father. I smiled, grabbing a beanie from the truck, getting ready to head down. Sasha came out of the van, her eyes baggy and she wore a huge smile on her face.

“Oh boy.”

“Come on, you know you wanna,” Sasha teased, holding out the joint squeezed between her two fingers “Come on Annie.”

“Excuse me, I have to go and watch the tiny child that the four of us are raising,” I giggled, turning around and letting Sasha jump onto my back like a piggyback ride

“Dude, how are you not freezing?” Bella stared at me in my t-shirt and zip up hoodie

“I guess I'm used to it,” I shrugged “Plus Charlie bought hot chocolate powder, so I'm excited to get home.”

“Sash!” A group of boys walked up, one of whom I vaguely recognized. Sasha started squealing and kicking, making me put her down. She raced over and jumped onto Jacob, wrapping her arms around him “Oh god, you smell dude, real bad.”

“Jealous?” The girl grinned

“Not even a little,” Jacob cackled, pulling Sasha beside him by the waist as he looked over us all with a smile “Bella.”

“Hey Jacob,” Bella smiled back

“I believe this belongs to you,” Jacob smirked, getting Sasha to latch onto me again before sitting down in the van with Bella

“What're you like, stalking me?”

“You're on my rez, remember?” Jacob shot back with a laugh “Are you surfing?”
