Peter sat on top of a roof, looking out at the night sky. His feet dangled on the edge as he thought about the argument between him and Stark.
"You have to be more careful! It's dangerous here," Stark scolded.
"But we're supposed to help people," Peter said.
"Those monsters aren't people," Stark blurted out without thinking.
Peter's face twisted into disbelief.
"And what about Mister Captain Steve? Is he just a monster to you now," Peter asked.
"We have to stay safe until we get back to our world. I'm trying to keep you alive, kid," Stark reasoned, ignoring the question.
"No. I became a hero to help anyone who needs it. Regardless if they're from my world or not," Peter said, storming away from him.
"I didn't give you permission to walk away from me," Stark scolded.
"And who are you? My father," Peter scoffed, going to Atlas's bedroom.
That was their last conversation before Peter took off for the road. He planned to apologize for the disrespect that he gave him. But for now, they both clearly needed space.
He felt his senses telling him there was someone dangerous nearby. As if on cue, Atlas took a seat next to him, making Peter look up.
"Hey."
"Hi," Peter said.
They both fell quiet.
"Your dad seemed really upset the other day. I didn't mean for you to get in trouble," Atlas said.
"Atlas, you did nothing wrong. Mister Stark is already stressed out," Peter explained, "He just needs space."
Atlas stood up on the ledge and extended his hand to Peter.
"Where are we going," Peter asked.
"I'll go anywhere you wish as long as you remain by my side," Atlas flirted.
"Nice poetry," Peter teased.
"Thank you. I draw inspiration from the famous poet Doctor Seuss," Atlas teased back.
Peter finally accepted his extended hand and got to his feet. Atlas pulled him closer by his waist.
"Do you trust me," Atlas asked.
"That is a weird question to ask me while we're standing on the edge of a roof," Peter sassed.
