The smell of medicines lingers in the atmosphere. People hurriedly walked here and there to meet their patients. Meanwhile, Scarlet sits in the nurse's room. The nurse covers the wound on her arm with a bandage, stealing glances at the beautiful woman from time to time, trying to see any difference in her expressions.

Scarlet sits with a blank expression, her eyes had no spark for the time being. Her gaze is stuck nowhere, completely zoned out. The nurse can judge easily that something horrific happened, looking at the dried blood on her arm, droplets on her neck, and some on her cheeks.

" It's done, Ma'am"

She informs, making Scarlet come out of her world of thoughts. She nods her head briefly and gets up from the couch " I want to wash my face "

The nurse nods and points at the side of the room " There's the washroom, Ma'am"

Without responding to anything, she walked towards the washroom that was attached to the room.

The nurse looks at her appearance completely; her dress has blood splashes and is rough from some sides, and she has a little scratch at the corner of her lips. Scarlet walks into the washroom, turns on the tap, and looks at herself in the mirror.

I couldn't protect him...

She talks to herself in her mind, hearing her voice at the back of her mind, He got shot protecting me...

The guilt building up in her is making her suffocate. Negative thoughts taking in her mind. She never thought someone getting hurt would affect her to this extent.

She closes her eyes and lets out a heavy sigh. No matter how much she wears the mask of a strong woman, deep down she's the one who can't watch someone getting hurt for her. That's something she wishes to never witness.

Growing up alone and not having parents around to tell her it was okay to cry was a tough experience. She was taught that it's a selfish world and only she can protect herself.

Time taught her everything.

The person who is always protecting others gets protected. Something hard to digest. The first time someone risked their life to protect her, especially the person who she was assigned to protect.

Her eyes held emptiness. Looking at her reflection with no thought, no emotions. Scarlet herself can't explain what she's feeling.

Whipping off the blood from her hands, off her face, and finally her neck.

She walked out of the washroom, looking at her dress, which, was not as shiny and graceful anymore as it was before the ceremony started. She wanted to keep this dress with her forever. She stares blankly at her dress. The one he designed for her.

She wanted to cherish this dress forever. She closes her eyes and sighs again, calming herself.

A knock on the door grabs her attention. Looking in the direction of the door, Taehyung stands there. He walks near her " Scarlet "
