"Josh!" I called as I ran toward him.
He turned around and waited for me. "What's up?"
"Do you have the ring on you?"
"No, I don't carry it around with me."
"Well, you should. I want to see it. It's been a week since you told me and I still haven't seen it. You promised to show it to me."
"I know. You could just come to my dorm to see it."
"I don't have a key to your dorm."
"Come with me after your classes are over and I'll show you."
"I can't. I told Niall that I'd call him after I'm done with class today."
"You're always talking to him."
"What does that mean?"
"It just seems like you don't have much time to hang out with me lately."
"It's not just me. You've been so busy with Ashley that anytime I want to hang out with you, you've got plans with her."
"Excuse me for wanting to spend time with my future fiance."
"My parents don't even spend that much time together."
"So that takes away my right to spend time with my girlfriend?"
"No. I just would like to see you more."
"Me too. I guess our schedules don't work together anymore."
"I guess they don't. I just don't want to go off with Niall knowing that I missed so much time with my best friend. We need to plan a day together this weekend."
"Just the two of us?"
"Just the two of us. No calls from Niall, no Kaitlyn, no parents, no siblings, no Ashley. Just you and me."
He smiled. "That would be awesome. This is why I love you. Anytime we fight, you find a way to fix it." He gave me a side hug.
I smiled up at him. "Love you too."
I know, I know. It's weird for a girl and a boy to say 'I love you' if they're not dating or related. Josh is like my brother, so we say 'I love you' constantly.
We walked into our class and took our seats.
The day went by quick and before I knew it, I was sitting in my dorm, dialing Niall's number.
"Hey, Molly."
"Hi. How are you?"
"Good. You?"
"Good, aside from missing you."
"I miss you, too. Two weeks. That's it."
"I know, but I don't want to wait."
"Neither do I, but we have to. On the bright side, we're halfway through."
"I never thought I'd make it this long without seeing you."
"I knew you could. I just wasn't sure if I could."
"But you did, we both did."
"Yeah."
At that moment, Kaitlyn walked in with her phone pressed to her ear.
Who are you talking to? I signed to her.
Did I not mention that during freshman year Kaitlyn and I decided to learn sign language so we could communicate without words? No? Well, we did. We don't use it much, but if we need to, we do.
