5 days until tour
I looked down to see Ashley spinning her engagement ring around her finger.
"You've had that for almost two weeks and you're still playing with it," I commented.
She looked down at her hands and smiled. "I didn't even realize I was doing it." She stopped and put both of her hands under the desk.
"It's already become a habit to play with your ring. That's a good thing." I smiled at her.
"I just can't believe Josh and I are getting married." Her smile widened.
"Have you two set a date, yet?"
She nodded. "July 17."
"That's kind of random."
"No, it's not. It's during one of the breaks of the tour. You'll be able to come without disrupting the boys concert scedule."
"Oh, right. I forgot they had a break in July."
"You're the one going on tour and I'm the one who knows when the breaks are. You're so prepared to go," she remarked sarcastically.
"Shut up. I have finals and graduation on my mind. I've been packing and deciding what I'm going to take with me. I would figure out when breaks are when I finally got on the road. Do you want any help with wedding plans?"
"You're going to be pretty far when I'm doing most of the planning. Plus, you should be focused on spending time with Niall, not my wedding."
"I can do both. When you're shopping or making plans, we can video chat and I can help."
"That could work, but I don't want to take from your time with Niall."
"You won't, I promise. Please, let me help."
She sighed. "Sure. On one condition, you can't give up time with Niall or sleep or anything else to help me, okay?"
I nodded. "Deal."
"Good. Now I need to find someone to be my maid of honor, since my two best friends are going to be in another country while I'm planning everything."
"I can still be your maid of honor if you want me to."
"You are going to be in another country in a week, no."
I huffed. "Fine. If you want to cut your fiancé's best friend from your wedding, be my guest."
"He agrees with me. You should enjoy yourself and have a good time with your boyfriend. Don't worry about our wedding."
The professor cleared his throat, glaring at Ashley and I. "Do you girls have anything you want to share with the class?"
We both shook our heads as we muttered a quick "sorry."
"Now, time for your final."
I took a deep breath as the professor started handing out tests.
We were released from class and we went back to our dorm. We went our separate ways when we got to the lobby. I walked into my room to see Kaitlyn with her hair thrown into a messy bun and her body clothed in athletic shorts and a T-shirt while she packed a few things up.
"Hey, Kaitlyn." I dropped my backpack beside my bed and pulled a water bottle out of our mini-fridge.
She turned and smiled at me. "Hi."
Our room was scattered with boxes and suitcases filled with our belongings. We had labeled boxes and suitcases to distinguish between what we were taking with us and what we were leaving here.
